Something seems a miss for sure... but what I find more concerning is A/C off and performing under all those lights in leather pants and jacket. It's June for fucks sake... although SJ had a high of 67 yesterday it's still summer time on the calendar. Clearly Dave was sweating his ass off in the Bottoms Up videos. It just doesn't add up...

Watching these videos feels like Dave woke up yesterday and said people don't won't to hear me sing they want me to be DLR! Sounds as spontaneous and belligerent as the old days, That is what makes the show fun. If I want to hear precision singing there are endless bands and plays for that, Dave being in your face MotherFucker is looking like he may bring out the #7 Sat night. Really if the band moved from script spots some and Dave keeps this shit up were in for another level, dare I say Ed and Wolf run the stage wild at cost of missing a note or will that cause another uprising.Last edited by DLR Bridge; 06-06-2012, 02:21 PM.Comment

I hear you. For me I really rather have a rocky road with all the speed bumps and that kinda feeling can only be captured with the risk seen last night. Some said Dave's been singing too high, well he went Low last night and just him and band having that much fun is when the good times roll on to the audience. If overall good time comes at the cost of perfect performance I'm buying when it comes to VH.Comment

Well maybe this is why they want to take a break?! Dave is singing his arse off every other night? So be it. If there is a problem, perhaps the break will provide him some downtime he needs.
As far as an audience, This is EXACTLY why I didn't want to go to see VH in SAN JOSE - they love Hagar down there. If they truly walked out, they are a disappointment bunch that does not have the class that SF/Oakland has anyway. Not surprised.
The rock stations in San Jose (the old KSJO) play alot of Van Hagar. But look, San Jose is NO San Francisco - that's like comparing Apples to Kumquats - in San Jose they Can't Drive 55, whereas in SF, they are too cool for school.
If you wanna see a concert with a thunderous crowd, go to the Oakland Coliseum and stay in the North Bay! (I'm sure I'll here crapola for this...LOL!)Last edited by bantonelli; 06-06-2012, 03:11 PM."Meet us in the Future.....NOT the Pasture".......DLR, August '07, VH Press Conference - Tour '07-'08Comment

Did they borrow the dictaphone from LBJ's swearing in on Air Force One in '63 to record those ??Eat Us And Smile - The Originals

@2:14.. how many of you wanted so bad for Dave to do his infamous jump of the drum riser??!Comment

Yeah, I have to agree with the folks who are saying that Dave's voice is not sounding very good. He seemed off during the first couple of shows, and then got much stronger... but now seems to be wavering again. A break could help a lot. It's painful to listen to some of this stuff. Fortunately, his showmanship is still as good as ever.ROTH ARMY MILITIA

Honestly, I was fortunate enough to see them 3 times on this tour.....both MSG shows were pheomenal and the second was the better of the two. Saw them in A.C. also which wasn't their strongest show but all 3 shows, Dave's voice sounded great. Maybe they just need to take a breather. It's too bad age catches up to the best of us cuz the band is melting faces nightly. I'll still take Dave over any other front man out there....I just hope he can get his voice rested and straightened out. I can't help feeling if he didn't strain the shit out of it forcing the high register, perhaps his voice would be in better condition. Either way, I am really hoping we haven't seen the last of this amazing band.Comment

I have a feeling he is painfully aware as are the rest of them. But the trooper he is/they are keep going. I am sure he will do whatever it takes to get it fixed and is looking forward to resting..I hope he does not get discouraged if he does view them.
Even with this hopefully temporary less than perfect voice, I am super glad I saw 3 shows this tour. If I was geographically closer to any of the upcoming dates, I would go again in a heartbeat. When you are there, it is so great to be at the show.

Just watched someone's youtube video of "Unchained" - much different start than we've been used to...they all come on almost at the same time so there's no lag time anymore vs thunderous applause when the man comes out a little bit delayed like we're used to...just sayin'Comment
