Well I had damn fuckin' good time at the =VH= show here!
BTW, Kool & The Gang was awesome as well. Glad they put "Jungle Boogie" on the set list.
Only problems I had during that day had nothing to do with =VH=:
-Went too early to the entrance. Should have gotten there 45-30 minutes before the show.
-The Mrs. wouldn't let me drink.
-A shitty circus act took up 20-30 parking spaces at the hotel we were staying at.
-I hate the GPS system my wife bought.
-The religious people handing out pamphlets outside the arena.Last edited by BITEYOASS; 04-28-2012, 04:08 PM.Comment

Yeah, you went in too soon. I was hoping to see ya.....at least I met ONE Army member out front, so it was not a total loss. Glad you had SOME fun.
I actually drank no alcohol. First time in my life I attended a Van Halen concert totally sober. Did not want to drink before I left the house, as it would be 3 hours at least before VH took the stage, and I did not want to drink at the venue or on lower Broadway...overpriced....wanted to save my cash. So I splurged on a a hot dog and a Pepsi, lol.
I am going to my Mom's house Monday, so will download every single video I can find on youtube from the show. Hope to discover some bootlegs also. One of those things where I want it because I WAS FUCKING THERE!
Heh.....my friend here in Gnashville who was whining last night about Dave sucking has now graduated to saying it was the worst concert he ever saw in his life, and telling his FB friends they should not buy tickets.
I , of course, stepped in to say that Dave is better vocally than a lot of shows he did in the early 80s where he talked his way through the show, "forgot the words", etc.
I then pointed out that there are a lot of people who saw what they expected to see and got their moneys worth, and that anyone reading the thread should make up their own mind about going, as it was not as bad as my friend is making it out to be.
Ah well. He is entitled to his opinion. And it won't bother our friendship, lol.
Glad you had fun BYA! Too bad I missed ya!
Oh and while I was hanging with friends in the mezzanine just before Van Halen took the stage, some guy was walking by and said my shirt ruled, lol.Last edited by Hardrock69; 04-28-2012, 05:26 PM.Comment

Oh, one other thing about Kool & The Gang. The singer had a pair of Wolfgang guitars, one was a Stealth, the other was a white one.
At one point he began hollering something about Rock & Roll, and began playing a BLISTERING guitar solo. Dude is a good fucking soloist!
Only problem?
Morons at the mixing console could not get it loud enough in the mix quickly enough....by the time they got it at a volume to where everyone could actually hear it, he was done....
But what do you expect from someone who is mixing a musical style that emphasizes every other instrument BUT guitar?
Was nice to see him playing some Wolfgang guitars.
Oh, and at one point I noticed Ed had a Charvel. I think he played it for one song. Then it was back to the Wolfgangs.
And ONE OTHER thing......I was at Guitar Center in Nashville a couple of days ago, in the Vintage guitar and amp room. I asked the guy if they had any EVH amps, as I wanted to check one out. He said they trickle in one at a time once in awhile, and they sell within 24 hours......and he said "But of course if you want one and we have one sitting in our distribution center, we could have it here pretty quickly....."
I would say to that..BULLSHIT! I was polite to the guy and said I wish they had one there, etc.
Seems that Ed needs to check on the distribution network for his amps. This is fucking Nashville!
MUSIC CITY USA! At GUITAR CENTER! Supposedly the largerst retail musician's gear supply store in the country! And Ed is a GUITAR GOD!
And they STILL do not carry his amps here at GC in Nashville?
That is pathetic.
Ah well. Someday, PERHAPS, I may show up at GC to discover they MIGHT POSSIBLY have one there for a few seconds so I can actually look at it once before it heads out the door in seconds.....
Not like I can afford one, but after hearing so much about them.....and now seeing 10 half-stacks (10 cabs, 10 heads) in action, it WOULD be nice to at least play through one for a moment.Last edited by Hardrock69; 04-28-2012, 05:38 PM.Comment
