Well...it sounds like one hell of a night in Chicago.
I haven't read through every single post in the thread, but lots of speculation about Dave's voice, range, possible need for surgery, etc....
It's at the point where I'm surprised there isn't a "Dave's Voice" thread to join the "Dave's Hair" threads, "Dave's headset", thread, etc... Perhaps by the time I'm done with this post, someone will have started a "Voice" thread.
The bottom line is this...at least in my opinion. Dave needs to stop straining for the upper registers. It just ain't happening for him. I know this is what many others have said, so feel free to flame me for being redundant.
I don't think it could possibly be a case of polyps, nodes, whatever...that might require surgery. They've had 4 fucking years off since their last tour, and recorded an entire record together. If surgery was needed, it certainly would have come to light before now. The problem didn't just show up because they started a tour.
