since y'all have already seen one of my photos (that's my shot of Eddie and Dave hugging that someone posted), I figured y'all might be interested in the rest of them.....Go home the Earth is full....Comment

I'm hopin' for that as well ----- be awfully cool to see Dave do his "Got myself a brand new [insert city name] scarf, right here, ahhh yeah!" schtick out on the ego ramp.

hey, back in the office in ATL today. the 6 hour drive up on Saturday turned into 7 hours coming back with rain/snow/sleet mix. I'm behind at the office, so I will have to wait until later in the day to post a more thorough review.
let me just say this much...the band sounded great. Quite a bit better than last tour. I didn't notice any trouble with the mix, or the guitar player for that matter. Eddie sound sharp and clear. He was absolutely ON all night. Ed's solo was FANTASIC and much more focused than last time.
for all the bitchers about the set list...they clocked in at 1 hr 47 min (I checked my texts to VA). Most shows last tour were right at 2 hrs. I was listening to CLT in the car on the drive, here's what they cut out:
...leaving for the encore - 3 minutes,
1984 - 2 minutes,
Al's drum solo was a bit shorter, probably 3 minutes.
the break in the middle of I'm the One where they just soaked in the crowd... 2 minutes
the middle part of Ed's solo where he forgot what he was doing and started noodling with Al's drum sticks...3 minutes
there's your 13 minutes. in other words, all the shit that stripped the momentum of the show (except for I'm the One, but that was a one-time deal for that tour where Ed and Dave really couldn't believe they were actually up there doing it).
would you like them to add all of that back in? the show was fast-paced, very little fuckin' around between songs. the band was TIGHT. they all sounded great. and 3 of them are almost 60; they don't sound it.
I'd like them to add a couple of more songs, too, but I'm not complaining. more later...David Lee Roth's the greatest motherfucker who ever lived!

Just a few things that i picked up on during the show. There was a lot of interaction between DLR and Alex that would always end up with a big ass smile on Alex' face. At one point late in the show EVH walked in behind Wolf and gave him a little kick like Peyton Manning does to Eli on that ESPN commercial which brought a huge smile to Wolfie. We were in the fourth row and directly in front of us was a couple of early 20's smokin hot blondes, during beautiful girls DLR singled these two ladies with eye contact while singing "all i really need is a beautiful girl" and these ladies went ape shit. The man has still got. Also if you decide to make a beer run before the opening like an idiot, the last thing the roadies do before show time is treat the dance floor with baby powder and work it in with some kind of floor swiffer. The story that DLR told about the comparison of herding sheep to chasing cheerleaders was classic DLR.Comment

Just to clarify about my videos...
I am the guy that made the 2-cam mix videos on youtube.
I did it as a fan with no intentions to sell it. When I said "release" I just meant that I would release it on dimeadozen.org and/or thetradersden.org. I guess I should have realized that the word "release" could imply sales. But that's totally not the case.
Also, I clearly credited everyone involved, both on the youtube description and my site. I personally know both the audio taper and the other video taper and that's how I was able to get their files right after the show.
Anyone that wants to find my site can find the link on the youtube video descriptions. My site is where I will be posting the rest of the video as I finish editing in the coming days.
Peace.Comment

I'm curious as to what equipment you used to get such a clean sound capture? I'm pretty sure you didnt use a cell phone for audio quality like that. Also seems like you used a tripod for the video?Comment
