So, we're at the bar after the show, and TommyV is bitching about the devil horns everyone does. Saying it needs to end. Nobody should be doing them anymore. I'm sitting there thinking "oh shit, wait until he sees the pic his friend took!" Ha ha!

Oh, and since you couldn't see them in the pic TommyV posted, please notice the shorts I wore! Motherfucking ORANGE shorts, and proud of them! The tradition cuntinues!

By the way, I think that fag TommyV was trying to hold my hand in that pic!

Pity you didn't have something with you to capture the moment , you have heard of pics or it didn't happen.

I had a choice, and I chose to show him the buggy, instead of getting the pic. Besides, Twona was supposed to get a pic of me showing it to him, but he had a shitty vantage point. He did get a pic, but I'm not sure you can tell it's me. Weather permitting, I'll be driving it to their hotel when they're here so he can sign it, and then I'll get a pic with him, and the buggy!

I cuntcur with Twona. The sound was fucked almost all the way through the show. Dave told the sound guy to "wake up" once, and made several other comments about the sound. Definitely issues.

Other than the sound, the show was pretty good. That review above claims there were 7,500 people there, and I believe that to be right on the money. I told Twona late into the show, that there was no way it was close to 10,000. Regardless, doesn't matter. It was a nice cool summer night, outdoors at a Van Halen concert, with a few old friends. Old friends that aren't as old as Zah, but old friends nonetheless. This was a VH show that featured very little banter from Dave. They pretty much went from one song, to the next. I don't know if it was the sound issues, or what, but they didn't mess around. Dave did tell a very cool story about "Mr. V", Ed and Al's Dad, before "Ice Cream Man". Of course, some drunken asshole had to scream at the top of his lungs telling Dave to "Just play a fucking song". The guy obviously didn't get it. Didn't get Dave, and didn't get Van Halen. I'm sure he was just there for a drunken party anyway. Overall, it was a good show. I strongly debated whether or not to attend. I paid $60.00 for my ticket, and I'm glad I didn't pay anymore than that. The setlist is good. The band is phenomenal. Dave is doing better than the representation on the live album, and the shows of that time period. But, I still wouldn't go any further than I went for this one, and I sure as hell wouldn't pay big bucks to see them. When they play DTE in Sept. I'll go if I can get a ticket for a reasonable price.

Getting to speak to Ed for a minute was really cool. He liked the buggy, and probably would have liked it more if he could have seen all the details on it. I don't know if he was busting my balls when he asked how he could sign it because it wasn't there, or if he just has hearing loss because of all the loud music. I did have to repeat myself with almost everything I said to him, and he leaned in so he could hear me better. He was laughing and smiling, and you could just tell he is finally in a good place. He looks healthy, and he was just really cool to everyone he saw. I think Edward Van Halen is really at peace with himself now. Of course, he'll probably still get caught up when he's being interviewed, and spew some crazy shit, but he really seemed to be down to earth and very happy to be where he is. I am glad for him.

It was great to see TommyV and Twona again. I'm glad that other fucking Canuck Guwapo didn't show up! :D I'm sure he would have been there if he really believed they weren't going to kick me out at the border again!

    Review....

Van Halen Rocks Western Fair District
By Heather Manners on August 6, 2015 4:23am

Van Halen christened the Western Fair District’s new outdoor concert venue last night with bang.

An estimated 7,500 fans packed the new concert site at the racetrack to catch original members David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen performing their hits like Jump and Running with the Devil in their over two hour show.

Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie’s son, has played bass with the band since the 2006 departure of Michael Anthony. Western Fair District chief executive officer Hugh Mitchell says, “It’s really just the start,” for the new venue.
