            Nah. They made Van Halen together. If Roth hadn't hooked up with VH, he might never have went anywhere, but if VH hadn't hooked up with Dave, Ed might well be the greatest guitarist you never heard of.

            Only need to look at Van Halen's career arc and the downward spiral the band took after Dave left to validate that.
