Yep we all know how hardcore THAT little gem was :D Strung Out is a masterpiece, just a classic wouldnt you say right up there with that Beverly Hills Cop instrumental!
I can answer this... he was made to feel that his solos were show stealers. I have read it several times that Sammy and he had issues with who was the spotlight of the show. He actually felt guilty if people were more interested in HIS contributions than Sammys. I think that's why came back saying they left their egos atthe door. I believe he and Dave had this issue too.

You are right Fab the reasons we love VAN HALEN are (and not in this order) David Lee Roth, Edward Van Halen, Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony.Wether you love Daves'take no prisoners front man or Eds' take no prisoners guitar,Alexs'kick you in the face drumming and MIKES UNIQUE AND HAUNTING BACKGROUND VOCALS. There never will be anyone like THEM. PUT DOWN THE EGOS BOYS AND DO WHAT YOU DO BEST!
Originally posted by nosuchluck he played a solo on VH3. but it was an electric sitar solo, called 'Primary'.
it was pretty cool IMO.
ok go ahead flame me...
Yeah, that was one of the brighter spots on that album, even though it was like pulling zircons out of a diamond mine that had been tapped out a long time ago.
"Primary" on VH3 was actually pretty interesting. "Baluchitherium" was decent too, but obviously it's not a solo piece. Sam had lyrics for it, but I guess it never sounded right with them. (don't say it, I know what you want to say. )
