Alex will be the Official shit stain sniffer in the lobby. VH is alive, but in the original 6 only. After 85 they gave a rebirth to themselves that, Im sure, included way too much self-induced narcissistical spasms of the dreaded 'Holier than Thou'd isease.

It sure does. Every where they go, they are asked about Dave. Its like being haunted by the same ghost for years. Only Dave is "alive and well" which makes it even tougher to deal with.

Well, Warner Bros. is over for them unless Roth's back. If Roth's back, WB will welcome them back with open arms and release anything that they want released, I have that on "confirmed" status.

With Hagar, WB won't touch them anymore.

They've made several attempts since 1991(ish) to get off of WEA and onto the Sony label(s), being Epic, Columbia, et al, but they've been met with differences in opinion as to royalties, distribution, etc., so Sony's probably off the table for them as well.

I've heard that Island/Def Jam has shown SOME interest, but it's been pretty limited interest.

More like than not, if they opt to release something that's not live or greatest hits or unreleased vault material (which will fall under the WB umbrella), they're looking seriously at indie labels...Spitfire, Sanctuary, etc., and that's a place that Van Halen Inc. does NOT want to be relegated to...for them, it's the final nail in the proverbial coffin, but unless they opt to put aside past differences and reunite with David, it's the reality they're looking at.

If I recall prior to Cherone leaving they had one more album due for WB... When Ed's cancer cropped up VH & WB parted company but I believe WB retained an option on another release if it were to materialize. BOBW should satisfy that... but it's unclear if there's any other deal with VH and WB at this stage. Like their separation from WB it "wasn't newsworthy" as is Ed's deal w/ Peavey and anyone else for that matter... No News is Now News... BAU...
