      Hi there Figs. Wassup.

I was there a couple months ago and I asked one of the workers where the Kiss outfits were. He told me they were gone because Kiss wanted rent money and they supposedly don't rent anything.
If Mikey gave it for free, then he really gave up - possibly he realized that, when his tour performance wasn't worth a ticket for the majority of true Van Halen fans, his bass isn't worth jackshit.

He may have just lent it, or probably has a bunch and just donated one of them. I would have a mild interest since he used to be in one of my favorite bands, so it does beat looking at 'N Synch's stage outfits.

Oh yeah, Mr. Witz would paint Kiss makeup on his mother and sell her. I am a Kiss fan, but I'm not crazy with my money when it comes to them. There's difference between a fan and a sucker.

I was there maybe 5-6 years ago. THey had FAKE KISS stage outfits. FAKE because, as you said, KISS doesn't give up ANYTHING for free.
They had the ALLMAN BROS. entire stage set up cira 1970.
They had JIMMY PAGE's white Dragon Suit circa 1977.
            Beatles guitars.
The Edge's guitars(Hence, the have stuff from people that weren't in YET, but they KNEW were gonna be!).

And, again, that strip club in the flats was A-#1.

That's some cool stuff, I don't remember seeing the Dragon suit, I hope it was gone when I went.

The reason they want Mike's bass is to have memorabilia from the least talented rock musician ever. They have stuff in there from McCartney, Wilson and Townshend. They need to balance that out with something from The Bass Player©.

I heard it was going to be used as an interactive display. Kids could play along with a Van Halen tune, and all they would have to do is hold down one note and pick along to the beat.

The title of the display was "Look: Anyone Can Make It To The Big Time!"

After each kid finishes playing, he has to high five a cut out of Sammy and yell "it's 5150 time." If he can do that and look likes he's having the time of his life, he win's a wax head of Eddie Van Halen that melts if you hold it in daylight.

right. the RRHOF doesn't buy items, everything is loaned or donated. makes it kind of hard for them to compete with the deep pockets of the Hard Rock Cafe and the EMP, but they still do pretty good.
