Wendy O: I don't want to front VH and I'll kick Ed's puny ass..
This may have been posted before, I'm old and my memory is waining.
Some names are the same, but it's pretty fucking funny.

Former Plasmatics star Wendy O. Williams says no to Van Halen. Joey
Ramone and Eric Wagner compete with David Lee Roth for the role of
frontman. With the recent departure of Sammy Hagar only a few days ago, a
spokesman for former punk icon Wendy O. Williams has informed Rockit
Chicago magazine that Wendy has turned down an offer to front the
supergroup. Rod Swenson manager for the retired punk star bluntly stated
"Wendy wants nothing to do with those sell outs" ... "They actually want
to go punk now, can you believe it?" Swenson continued by saying "If
Eddie (Van Halen) does not quit calling her she is going to go to L.A. and
kick his puny little ass."
Ms. Williams, a former sex show performer, fronted the now defunct
Plasmatics. The Plasmatics were known mostly for their wild antics on and
off the stage. Wendy attired in sometimes only whip cream and
strategically placed electrical tape, was known to destroy television
sets, chainsaw guitars, destroy cars and beat up an occasional reporter
or two. Swenson also stated "They (Van Halen) are so set on this punk
thing they are talking with Joey Ramone now. Who next, Johnny Rotten?"
Monte Melnick tour manager for the Ramones, currently on the Lolapalooza
tour, said, "Yeah Joey has been contacted but he is not the only one.
They (Van Halen) are also talking with Eric Wagner from the band Trouble
as well as (their former frontman) David Lee Roth." Someone told me that
they were talking with Billy Squier as well, but Joey (Ramone) assured me
that this was not the case. Joey said it's between me Eric and Dave."
Melnick assured Rockit that we would have an answer within the week.
When asked if Joey would accept the role his reply was "Of course if
they pay him well." "Trouble opened up for us a few years back and they
are not punk at all. They sound more like Black Sabbath than Black
Sabbath, so I am surprised they even contacted Eric. But who knows this
is the last tour for the Ramones as we know it and I would love for Joey
to get this gig.", Melnick concluded. At press time spokesman for both
the Van Halen and Trouble camps declined any comment.
