Has Eddie ever complimented Dave?

As much as I love Eddie and think he's a genius, Dave was the heart and soul of Van Halen. I wonder...why is it that Eddie, and Alex for that matter, slag Diamond Dave at every turn?

Has anyone EVER...,I mean fucking EVER heard Eddie say anything nice about Dave, even back when they were together in the band? I mean, Van Halen would have been a great band without Dave as lead singer because of Eddie of course, but WITH Dave, they were phenomenal.

As much as I admire Eddie, I can't totally respect the guy for dissing Dave.

When I go back now and listen to the early VH stuff, it has Dave written all over it. Even tho Dave wasn't the musician in the band, I can tell that he made a major contribution in terms of the song structures, the choruses and of course, the lyrics have just GOT TO BE ALL DAVE...all the time! If Sammy Fagar was with them from the beginning, NONE of those VH records would have gone down in history.

When he did, he always had an insult attached to it. Like:

"Dave's a creative guy, it's just living with him!"

or

"Both Dave and Sammy have Lead Singer Disease, but at least Dave never lied."

Shit, me either! That just proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt what kind of people the VH's are. They are just excruciatingly miserable douchebags that are SO convinced that THEY are the only reason VH was famous that they have to sit around and insult the only guy that took them from good garage band with great guitarist, to international SUPERSTARS with a PHENOMINAL guitarist... Eddie and Alex should go fuck themselves. Dave is the guy that made them GREAT... not just good, but FUCKING GREAT!! Dave sat there and told Ed which riffs were cool, and which ones sucked. Dave arranged the songs with those riffs into MASTERPIECES. Then Dave wrote the coolest lyrics to go over those songs... just fuck the VH sisters for the travesties they've done to themselves, to their legacy(that Dave built), and especially to Dave himself...

I'll have to dig through my old GUITAR PLAYER mags but before the split Ed was extremely complimentary towards Dave. I seem to remember "Loss of Control" most specifically. He mentioned that he (Edward) played some crazy shit and was blown away how no matter what was presented to Dave that he (Dave) could somehow put words to them.

Also, he said during the "Diver Down" sessions that Dave delivered EXACTLY what Ed envisioned both lyrically and melodically regarding "Secrets." Valerie has been quoted saying that as well. I have that on an old Good Morning America interview.

Ed is on record doing an Australian radio interview in 1991 on air stating how he wanted Roth back in the band. Then in '96 he bails to Dave's house to get on the new record. When Ed has cancer, Dave has his father (Dr. Nathan Roth) hook Ed up with a specialist. Also, after the failure of VDIII, who does Ed call in 2000? DAVE!!!

I know it's all pure speculation but judging by this flop tour and no interviews whatsoever from Ed. I fully put the blame on Alex regarding Dave's absence from any projects. We all know Michael Anthony is just a "yes man" but Ed has repeatedly said how much he "loves" Dave.

One other thing. I remember in the summer of 2000 when the reunion rumors were rampant. Valerie was co-hosting Regis and a member of the audience asked about VH. She blatantly told them that Dave and Eddie were working together and that she was a much bigger fan of Van Halen as opposed to Spamola.

It's all that jealous sack of shit Al's fault. Even ask their original bass player, Mark or Mike Stone? Alex ALWAYS wanted the control of the band and felt it was his. Thankfully, Dave had other ideas and we all know where it went after he bailed.
