Am personally glad Van Halen hasn't been the subject of a VH1 Behind The Music special, because I'm not interested in seeing half the episode time split between what came before and after 1985. Leave that VH1 shit to all of Van Halen's bastard children (Motley Crue, Poison, Van Hagar, etc.)

Clasic Van Halen was filmed plenty. The elusive nature of that footage makes it all the more pleasurable when it gets scored boot-style (just as soon not give the sisters a nickel at this point until they come up with the vaulted goods).

Any box set is gonna be half full or better of Van Hagar. WB isn't gonna make it easy for us with the distinction between lineups - why forfeit any sales by totally alienating either fan base? Plus, too many out there all too ready to pay out to anything with a Van Halen logo slapped on it.

i have heard interveiws with dave were he has stated that there is tons of classic van halen stuff out there ! he stated that the radio interveiws were absolutely hilarious on there own let alone the filmed promos and live footage of the band ! so again it goes back to eddie and alex wont release any of this stuff and when ever asked about it ed has always stated " to be honest there's really nothin out there with dave man " bullshit !!!!! and for the record mikey has a recording of every gig the band has ever done !!!! eddie and alex r sittin on a gold mine!! there is enuff dave era stuff for half a dozen box sets !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
