I doubt that...and dave's band met with him either...dave just didn't want to play with him (and maybe the bass player didn't want to do it, too) because he didn't want to give the fans some "half assed reunion" but all four or nothing...

Mike Anthony hanging around the fringes of the Sam and Dave tour must have been more amusing to Roth than anything else, but Hagar having Mike jamming up onstage with him in 2002 pretty much cemented the deal for the Van Hagar 2004 reunion.

Fat Sam wanted back in that band all along, and would do whatever it took to make that happen.
