Van Halen could not sell enough tickets to meet the high guaranteed payments the band demanded and lost money for promoters.

            GOOD WORK GR!

van hagar was a black-hole for promoters last year. It won't happen a second time. They'll be playing state fairs and flea markets!

              It depends upon the state.

A promoter in North Dakota had to pay VH a ton of money to go there, and only sold about 5,000 seats.

Yet here in Massachusetts, they sold out each night they were here. And sold out Connecticut and Rhode Island too.

So that's really a 1/2 truth there. Some places, like North Dakota, they cannot sell enough tickets to justify going there. Other places, like New England, they can. The promoters made a shitload of money here.

Look, VH with Roth is my favorite band. I was just pointing out the facts.

I now realize that it isn't cool to do that here, just to bash McHagar as ruining VH. blah blah blah

              Lesson learned.

I have seen documention supporting the fact that it was in the top 10 tours yet I haven't seen anything documented that it was a cash cow. Can someone show me where this information is coming from?

6th highest grossing tour of the year after being out of the limelight, barely any promotions, no new material ect.

Of course most people who went probably thought they were paying to see Dave.

Zappa73, try not to be so stupid, gross don’t mean shite,…..and look at the big picture.

                          Van SpamBoys Tour a Success?

Yes it was, for the Sisters and VH management, (Irving Azoff, that Jew doesn’t miss a thing/William Morris Agency, etc.) they skinned what was left off the carcass well on this Tour, using every trick and fraudulent approach in the book BTW, to ass fuck a greatly diminighing VH fans base. The fraud/misrepresentation in the 04 SpamBoys Tour, was some of the worse/under-handed shite I have ever witnessed.

Was the SpamBoy Tour a Success?

No, it was not for the fans. They got totally ass fucked by high ticket prices, fraudulent ticket sales practices, fraudulent marketing practices, a shitty stage and album product, and Eddie Van Halen – who is Van Halen for many younger fans.

Secondly, a lot of people went to VH for the novelty factors and/or to see Eddie. It was a one time ticket purchase. They will not do it again, particularly after VH screwed the fans in the 98 Tour and now the 04 Tour, and lied about a Van Roth ReUnion in 2000, and ’96. So the fans got fucked 96, 98, 00, and 04, and EVH is only a ghost of his past. Real successful!

No it was not for the promoter, they lost money, and got hit with a number of lawsuits over the Van SpamBoys Tour. No good promoter will touch Van Halen now.

Was the SpamBoy Tour a Success?

For the future and the potential ticket buying fan base…….Forget About It!......the fat lady (Hagar) sung!

With 20 YEARS of lies about how bad his voice is. With 20 YEARS of trashing Dave at every turn. With 20 YEARS of how NO GOOD Dave was, and how THEY were the reason VH was famous. If you wanna sit here all day, and DEFEND these disrespectful liars, then that's your business, because your talking to deaf ears. Maybe you didn't realize that the RothArmy is a refuge for Roth fans? You seem pretty suspect to me. As far as I'm concerned, Ed, Al, and Mikey should kiss Dave's ass every fucking chance they get for Dave has done for them and their careers. He helped them out of the garage as RAT SALADE, and into the BIG TIME as Van Halen, and Ed, Al, and Sam sit around in every interview they can and slam him... pretty fucking lame in my book. Dave NAMED the band. He told Ed which riffs were great, and which ones SUCKED. He told them how to dress. The list goes on and on... fact is, Dave ran the show with VH, and the sisters can't get over how great he was at doing it, and how BAD they are at it. And to run your mouth about them and us(the members), man, get lost.
