Nice part about the scenario is that Dave undoubtedly would have flown apart from the band back from Germany.

Yeah, sad to say, but it sure would have been preferrable to remember Van Halen in a positive way. Would have been better for Ed to go out on top, and you know there would have been classic live footage up the ying-yang to commemorate it. Why the fuck not? Got no use for what Halen's done since 1984 anyway!
