• Rock bands suffered a shaky year. Even though Metallica (No. 3 in attendance, No. 4 in revenue) and Van Halen (No. 9 in attendance, No. 6 in revenue) were two of the most successful rock bands on tour in North America, they attracted, respectively, only 6,041 and 5,300 to Ames. Van Halen, with a top price of $75, even discounted tickets to $20 in an effort to fill the seats.
Also, note in the articles section re: 2004's best selling albums, the absence of a shitty compilation entitlede "Best of Both Worlds".
