I like WAY DOWN, but I don't like the title track or some of the country stuff.

But yes, PLEDGING MY LOVE is a true rock 'n' roll song.

Way Down is kinda cheesy, but rocking for sure...

Every song is good just like any Elvis record...

        Good stuff!

Do you like your movie ELVIS ON TOUR?? I love that movie!! It's one of the great concert flicks, and I don't know if they're ever going to release it on DVD. It's absolutely awesome...especially the performance of POLK SALAD ANNIE. BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER is also awesome.

Polk Salad Annie is probably my favourite!

              People love to discredit Elvis...

              I don't get it...

              Awesome film!

The films and videos are powerful enough...

Yup! Of course, 1972 was still not so bad for ELVIS. Yes, his wife had just left. But he was still cutting some of his great records (ALWAYS ON MY MIND, BURNIN' LOVE), with PROMISED LAND and T-R-O-U-B-L-E still to come. And he wasn't really fat in this movie. It was a huge tour, amazing shows. And ALOHA was still to come too.

Of course, there are also the famous June 1977 concerts that were filmed by CBS, two months before he passed on. Now, those are depressing viewing.

I was a baby when he died. I can only imagine what it would have been like to have seen him then. And in fact, I would almost rather see ELVIS at Madison Square Garden in 1972 than at any other point in his career. That truly was a gigantic show.

It's amazing how he went down in five years or less...

I am very saddened by the thought...

I was just thinking about the Beatles last hurrah (Side two Abbey Road) and now this.

Amazing. I bet there wasnt a dry eye in the house.

You know the thing that struck me about Elvis, he always thought he
had to prove himself, yet the whole world loved him, regardless.

I wish someone could have made him realize that.

Elvis in concert in the 50's was the shit!

He was groundbreaking at the time...

People thought they were witnessing Satan on the stage! They literally closed their eyes...

Elvis may not have written his songs, but he wrote the book on how to rock!
