i don't remember where i read it, but i read that ed feels there's not enough interesting material and practically no unreleased songs of high caliber to turn into a "anthology" realease. i say i'd love to hear anything from the golden years...miffed takes, banter (of all kinds), jams, bare bones tracks before overdubs (which the juggernaut from '78-'84 hardly needed much of...

so come on! somebody steal this shit and get it out there! is something like that out already, and i just don't know about it??? i like outakes, i even like mistakes. they endear me to the performer, cause we all fuck up here and there. and while you're at it fellas, hurry up and find spam "mas tequila-ed" so we can pick up where we left off-on top!!!

With all the stuff from this site, just for Classic Van Halen, they could clean them up and release them. Those demos and live recordings (especially the 1984 show) are great. You would think with his ego that he would have more pride in the work that the band has done.

He is just too lazy to release the Van Halen Anthology, I have some classic VH bootlegs of unreleased songs and covers, they are remaster and sound great!

Just hang out in front of Ed's house with a case of Mickeys. Sooner or later he'll come out for a drink. An hour or two later you should have run of the place. Take some '78-'81 live footage while you're there.

Ed and Al are SO PISSED that they're not the reason VH was famous that it just grinds at them every fucking day, and ANY chance they have to say something mean about Dave, or the era he created, then they'll take it, trying vainly to put down Dave enough to make them look good... but the big problem is that they just come off looking like the assholes they are... Your right Scotty...in part. Ed, Al and Mike are part of the reason VH is famous. As is Dave. The part they cannot handle is the fact that the fame associated with that, immediatly brings up talk OF DAVE, but they were part of it too! If they could just accept the fact that VH as a group from 78-84 is what we all want, they might be able to overcome this. There own insecurity towards Dave as an integral part of that fame is what prevents a future Classic VH IMO.
