Cool! I think...

the show starts..."HELLO, MONTREAL...ARE YOU READY TO ROCK?...I GIVE YOU..THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN!

The spotlight goes on Ed...the intro to Unchained...then BOOM...the lights hit...Dave off the drum riser...

I got chills and felt the water well up in my eyes! and I think...YEAH! now thats MY Van Halen!!!

Is there ANY band, ANY band...that has that kind of power on its fans 21 years after the fact? Where legions of folks flock to a website everyday to discuss it? How great they were...how the music changed their life...how great that music STILL is today...how much they PRAY that a reunion takes place?

Whatever the reason is that brought YOU here...for me...It was the first 15 seconds of that show that summed it all up with the wipe of a Kleen-ex...THAT....IS MY VAN HALEN!!!

My first Van Halen experience was probably "Eruption". I remember hearing it when I was like 9 and thinking "What instrument is that? Is that a harpsicord?" Then the rest of VH1... probably the most kick ass thing I had heard in my life up to that point. Fuckin awesome. Best shit ever. Fuck Hagar, that piece of shit!!!

Yes, it will be my first Roth show. Dunno why Ive never gone. I bought Eat Em & Smile back in 1986? I was in summer school before my Junior year and remember watching Yankee Rose on MTV. That was soo fucking cool along with my other favorite band Def Leppard. Im going to wear my "David Lee Roth Is Van Halen" T-shirt at the Redding show. See if I can stir up some shit! BTW Ill never forget hearing Van Halen 1 on the long drive from the Bay Area down to Disneyland. Thats when I was 10 yrs old in 1981. Those were some fun times!

lol Carmine, I will do my best on the report & photos!! Probably be too drunk to remember anything anyway!!! lol I was told by the manager when I bought my tickets that the building only holds 1000 people max. Ill be in the 6th row on the guitarists side, so it should "Up close in front of my naked steaming eyes"!!!

Hey Moose- I will definitely be enjoying this show. My girlfriend who has never seen Dave and prefers Spammy will be in for a RUDE awakening. Ill be saying," I told you so"!! Keep in mind she graduated from highschool in 1985 so she knows who Dave is. LOL

After May 20th....she will be converted...guaranteed!!

It happened to my wife this year. VHagar in June....Dave in November. She preferred sammy UNTIL the Rama show, which was her first Dave show...now she is on the chosen path of Roth!

I was just talking to my woman on the phone about this cool thread and she was saying it was Dave's flamboyancy that she didnt like. She thinks he's a male slut(in her words). I said whats wrong with that?
