    Eddie Van Halen VS Tupac

Fellas, we all have read that Ed Van Halen has hundreds of hours of tapes chocked full of unfinished or abandoned tunes locked away in 5150. You can bet your ass Dave's vocals are on some of them. My question is this: Do you think these will ever see the light of day once Ed takes the dirt nap? Think about it - if what Ed's not bullshiting about all of these archives floating around, VH could release more albums after he checks out than Tupac. angel:

Sam recently said that there aren't any leftovers lying around. Whatever Sam - I'm not interested in hearing your table scraps. I want vintage Dave and Ed circa 1981 kicking ass and taking names. It's gotta be out there. Maybe Eddie will let Wolfgang cash in on them?

What pisses me off is Tupac's put out 11 albums since his death. We can't get anything more than 3 lame ass songs from Ed since 1998? What a joke! What happened to that "I've got 10 albums waiting to go" shit? Get off your ass and put them out. If you're so into being a musician - then just put out instrumentals - anything - shit! I'd be happy to hear Ed tuning a guitar at this point (By the way Ed, you might want to start doing that again after the shit you put out on BOBW)

And another thing, - It's pretty pathetic to think the only way we'd be able to hear Dave and Ed together again is to have one of these guys kick the bucket. GOD DAMMIT WHAT'S THE PROBLEM. THE VAN HALEN CAMP IS LIKE THE NHL OF ROCK AND ROLL. CAN'T WE FIND A SOLUTION FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME!

    NOW I'M FUCKIN' PISSED OFF!

    Your thoughts?

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Edweird has in his will for his loving sister Alice to set fire to 5150 studio and all archives sending all die-hard classic Van Halen fans one final 'FUCK YOU' from the grave.

Dave has said that the Van Halen Bros. have the wrong agenda in mind. Dave, as we all know, gives 100% were as Ed and Al are content with Sam singing. It isn't complicated.

Sam and Alex were both full of shit when they said there's nothing left in the vaults worth hearing. Unless they were referring to Van Hagar. Shit, you can go to the bootleg forum on this site and listen to CVH studio demos, outtakes and live cuts for hours on end. The masters of that stuff are out there somewhere. Same for the classic video. Somebody has the source tapes and film.

Think it'll take Al passing on rather than Ed for things to loosen up. Pretty shitty way to look at it, and not something I'd wish on anybody. But I won't have a tear in my eye when Al's time comes. Sad to say. looks like Eddie will be the first to go if natural causes are the deciding factor.

Yeah, Ed's said he has three albums of material ready to go, but if it's the same caliber of what Van Hagar released in 2004, then thanks but keep that shit in the vault. Just goes to reinforce the notion to me that Ed was at his best when he was collaborating with Dave, produced by Ted and engineered by Don. Whatever compromise or control issues he had with that arrangement are overshadowed by the fact that his is a talent that he can't really direct effectively by himself.
