I cracked up when he was talking about Michael Jackson and he came up with this analogy:

The first thing Dave does when he gets to his hotel room is throw away all of the cookies and candy. He can't have that stuff around because he knows at 2am, he is going to be tempted.

He said that Michael Jackson shouldn't have young boys in his house for the same reason. :D

Dave said that Hagar was a 'mediocre talent', and that the tour he did with Hagar could only be as good as the worst performer (Hagar), or something to that effect.

He also said he did two tune with Ed in '96, and they sold 3 million copies, while the three tunes on BOBW only sold 300,000 copies.

He did indeed claim that he does not think Van Halen deserves to be in the HOF because Eddie destroyed himself by drinking too much, and it therefore trashed the band's legacy.

Oh, I wanted to add that my wife was listening on the way to work and called me on my cell and said,

"I'm enjoying listening to Diamond Dave. He sounds like a Rhode's Scholar, like he knows everything."

I told her Dave's indeed well-read and very intelligent.

Dave also said the opposite of love isn't hate, but jealousy. This was in the Hagar segment when Dave said Sammy's always had a problem with him.

I was able to hear about 40 minutes of the show this morning, pretty much just on my ride to work. Dave was very good. He was not doing schtick, just talking up different topics like the war in Iraq (and why we belong there), Paris Hilton, why Pam Anderson was no good after she was with Tommy Lee etc. I can't record while I'm driving, but hopefully someone will get it out there for those of not in the Boston area.
