As Terry basically said, there's nothing new to see here. We all know how envious Spam is of Dave. He wishes he had HALF of the credibility and respect Dave still commands. He can comfort himself in the fact that he's twice as big as Dave now(literally!).

i heard that the reason Sam and Dave toured was because Eddie was thinking of having one last farewell tour with both Singers to satisfy both era`s fans.
Eddie told the guys that he did not want any drama or bullshit on the tour. He challenged Sam and Dave and said if the 2 of you can prove to me that you can get a long out there then we will do it as Van Halen best of both worlds tour.
Sammy being the normal one according to Alex and Dave being a nut they nixed the Dave part and went on alone with Sam. Any truth to that who knows?????Comment

All I know for sure is I walked out on Van Hagar in 1988 and never looked back, despite several more chances to see them.

Sammy needs to stay with his own buncha musicians and stay away from the Dumbass Twins.
Maybe Ed will start pushing to have Dave back in the band if Dave can promise Ed a case of Jim Beam daily for the entire tour....hell, Sammy probably got in Eddie's good graces again by presenting him with an IV Rig for his fucking Tequila....Comment

Sammy and anyone else who has no clue how and what makes Dave click the way he does has never read {Crazy From The Heat}.
Read the chapter titled "LOOKING IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR" and the clouds of confusion will vanish.
You will understand that at 6 years old he made a life choice to go his own way no matter the outcome.
99.9% of the population can only wish they had adopted his frame of mind and been able to hold on to it.
The world never could break Dave's spirit and Sammy, Eddie, Mike and Alex are still trying to do just that.
Dave was strong, Eddie was weak, and that is why Ed holds so much animosity towards Dave because Dave was a Father figure to Ed in a sense. and at some point we all have to turn on our Father's to gain our independance.
Dave is not the one who has to change, Edward is, and until he faces his own demons there will be no classic lineup on any stage in the future.
Ed went to therapy and therapy has sent him in the wrong direction. a direction that leads to self destruction and self absorbtion.
He can't deal with Dave because he cannot relate to Dave and is threatened by what Dave represents.

The one thing I noticed that got the antennae perking was on the Sam and Dave VH1 special aired in 2003, towards the end of the show, when asked about a Van Halen reunion....
Sam, sitting backstage next to Mike Anthony, says something like "I don't know, because I'm not looking for it, but the only way to do it would be for me to do a set with Van Halen and Dave to do a set with Van Halen."(yeah, because when people speak of a Van Halen reunion, they're definitely thinking Sam Hagar...what fuckin' planet has this guy been living on?)

Wouldn't be too tough to guess which guy Al decided would give him the least amount of trouble.
