If BRIAN YOUNG is doing other work this year for a new band, it is VERY possible that DAVE is doing something else.

That said, I won't get excited about anything yet...except maybe Sammy Hagar falling into a coma.

I agree with everyone else in the sense that if VH were to go out with Dave - they sure as hell wouldn't need Aerosmith. However, if Sammy were included in the deal, VH would almost certainly be the opening act.

Man, as shitty as Eddie played on the last tour, I'm not too sure he could get his shit together in time to hit the road by this summer. The guy's a fucking mess.

I say that VH is dormant for at least another 2 to 3 years before we hear anything from them again. The sisters haven't had the greatest of work ethics since 1985.

brian young is leaving? that does not mean that dave IS back with ed...it's not dave's first guitar player who is hitting the road...and I still hear some asshole saying "roth will never be the singer in van halen again"

Van Hager and Nsync's back-up band touring together makes sense. I have no respect fot either band.

I would agree, IF this were '96 or even 2000....

I think that VH shot itself in their collective feet by (as you mentioned) the shitty attendance and subpar performances by Ed...

I'd say if this happened pre-VH 2004 tour, this most definitely would be a VH-fronted tour...

But if this were to happen now, with Dave, after the Van Hagaita tour, I'm not so sure even Dave's presence could save them from being an opener to Aerosmith....

Let's not forget.... Even Aerosmith's watered down music nowadays draws sellout (or close to it) crowds, which of course is the bottom line nowadays in today's concert industry....

Something the VH 2004 did only 3 times I believe....

Best point made in this thread yet. And it gives creedence to Hagar rather than Roth.

Bottom line: all these guys might be "Planning" to do solo stuff this summer, but if the right offer is on the table, you too will rearrange your solo tour plans to do a crappy double bill for the mullet militia...
