I admitted that once upon a time, back in the early to mid-70s, Spammy was a decent enough (though lightweight) rocker.
However, just as VH was getting started on their path to TOTAL DOMINATION OF THE MUSIC WORLD in 1978, Spammy was at his peak and was on his downhill slide.
I saw Spammy September 15th 1978 in Seattle at the Seattle Center Coliseum.
I saw VAN HALEN exactly 2 weeks later on September 29, 1978 at the Seattle Sports Arena.
NO FUCKING COMPARISON
While Spammy was a decent enough rocker, Van Halen would have destroyed his ass even if they only played one song and allowed Spammy to play his entire set.
Yeah this crap has been discussed too many times, but seeing this VH-1 program moves me to write about it further.
May Spammy NEVER be in the same room with THE SISTERS (that's right, Drunko-Boy and Ape-Kid...I am talking about YOU!) again, may Dave continue doing what he wishes (whether the public admires it or not) and may the world never have to hear an abomination known as Van H***r live onstage ever again.
I know who wins in the long run. The one who has integrity and honesty, who is doing it for all the right reasons...
Notice how Dave was doing his songs from the Great American Songbook in 1995....and how since 2000 top pop artists like Rod Stewart, etc. have been recording songs from that same songbook.....
As always, Dave is ahead of his time...just enough that the SHEEP cannot comprehend.
And what is SPAMBONE the FLATULENT doing? Getting drunk (Not as ripped as Ed Van Beercan though) and heaving his bulk around stage while shilling tequila....he was pathetic on the Sam & Dave tour....I was so bored I left before his set was over.....I figured I would hang out long enough to see Mikey get up there, but after that it was a waste of space and time.
