                                The meaning of his summer tour? He needs the $$$$$. He'll pull in half empty crowds as he plays the state fair circuit. In between sets I hear he's operating the ferris wheel. Wonder if he'll use the SAME tired stage rap from the 80's? He will---he lives in the past and is delusional. He is starting to look as bad as he sounds--he couldn't sing live in 84, he CANNOT now even moreso. I am gonna go see him though, I've never witnessed a trainwreck. "Look at all the people here tonite!" "I'm gonna fuck your girlfriend!". YAWN The thing is---HE knows how sad and desperate he comes across. Poor Dave.

                                        Anyway...speaking of "half-empty crowds", have you seen some shots of the "Waborita" shows?? Dude...no name acts in local bars around where I live with no name talent pull in more people than Hagar and his fags.

                                        Y'know...I happened to catch the Van Hagar reunion at the Borgata in A.C. last summer (ONLY because the tickets were free...and because I still dig Eddie.) If there were 3,000 people there total, I would have been stunned. It was just a bunch of middle-aged, Saab driving, casino-comping pansies swaying back and forth with their wives/girlfriends to "Dreams." That's not the crowd or the sound that made Van Halen famous.

                                        Fuck...me and a buddy started jammin' when they hit "Unchained" and these fucking losers looked at us like they just wanted to call the police and get us "rowdies" under control. What a crowd full of fucksticks.

                                        Hagar's singing ability was difficult to judge. He shied away from actually singing, in favor of signing autographs for every dickhead who actually shelled out for the "golden ring" seats. Talk about suckers.

                                                Nah. Dave's not doing solo shows to keep in shape for a Van Halen reunion.

                                                Kinda thought maybe that was the case from 1999 to 2001, but last years choice of singers by the Van Halens should convince even the most enthusiastic CVH reunion-minded person that it ain't gonna happen anymore.

                                                If anything, Roth actually doing summer dates has me convinced that a CVH reunion won't be taking place this year. If Ed and Dave BOTH went 'underground', then maybe I'd speculate.

                                                Plus, Dave still goes for broke and gives 100% maximum output live. Has been all along. He may well drop what he's doing should the Van Halens wake up and ask him to reform, but don't think he approaches his career as a holding pattern until the CVH reunion comes to pass. He just does what he does as he feels like doing it.
