Yes I agree CVH is the only VH...with Sammy at the helm...DLR prior to Sammy cannot be considered VH simply because it is not VH...It is a band post Vh with the name only...VH came to be years after 1978 and not before..it was a shell..a warmup...a tryout...but not the band we refer to as CVH...

That's really funny! That 'shell' sold far more albums and has garnered far more critical acclaim. Classic Van Halen is played far more on the radio, has two 'diamond' status albums, and nearly every major rock critic has voiced that their catalogue is superior to that of 'Classic Van Hagar.'

You know how far Van Hagar would have gotten with Sammy at the helm if he were the initial singer in say 1978, about as far as Montrose! At best they would have been a cult act. You know damn well they would never have made six albums in just over six years since Sammy is a fat and lazy tool.

Classic Van Halen ranks up there with Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and the Rolling Stones (and would be remembered as such today had Dave stayed ).

Classic Van Hagar ranks down there with Journey, Foriegner, REO Speedwagon, and Styx. Bands that sold and achieved some success; but whom are considered marginal acts and on the second tier of the pantheon of Rock.
