Well that's a correct answer, but not entirely for the right reasons.

Fact is that Van Hagar had nothing whatsoever to do with the "Dreams" video. It was made by the Blue Angels as a promotional piece for themselves. Somebody at MTV saw the clip, thought that it would work well (this was the summer of the "Top Gun" movie, after all), and cut a deal with the Angels. Any other Van Hagar "videos" from the 5150 album were just performance clips from the "Live Without A Singer" video.

Just like the Oakland 81 footage, the band & WB never had ownership, so it didn't make it on to the ridiculously Hagar-biased Video Hits BOV 1 compilation.

Sam was trying desperately to fill the David Lee Roth void.

I still remember The Lying Dutchmen saying that they avoided videos in '86 cos that was Dave's territory, they wanted to let their "music" do the talking, they didn't want any comparrisons and they just didn't have the time. When translated it means, they were afraid. I would be too after veiwing Roy's prior vids like 55, etc. lol.

Navy piolets are better than Air Force piolets in some areas because they have to land on carriers. Air Force piolets have nice big runways on terra firma instead of a small patch on a rolling carrier deck.

As far as flying and combat manuvers are concerned both are good.

I think the F-18 Hornet is a better looking plane than the F-16 and I like the Blue Angels color scheme better, but the Thunderbirds are still amazing. I even got to see one crash his plane at Mountain Home Airforce base two summers ago. He ejected and was ok but we got to see the F-16 crash and explode. Very cool!

And I'll bet they can spell better than YOU. You all talk so much shit on here it's pathetic. Have you ever listened to the words of a song before and listened to what it really meant. It's not about flying a plane necessarily. Sure if you make the video then the lumps will think it's about the "Blue Angels" It can be about what you need it to be about at a certain time. Don't hate the song just because a particular person sings it. I'm kind of in that position right now so I don't need someone calling me a ooohhhh sheep. Not a Hagar fan. I like the song for other reasons. Peace
