...........how many copies would a CVH reunion album sell today? We all know a tour would be through the roof, but what are your thoughts on how the album would do with the masses?! Assuming there is no hit single(they were never about that anyway with Dave) of course.........Gold(they would hit that plateau EASILY I'm sure)? Platinum? Yes, I know album sales dont mean a fucking thing as long as we dig it, but whatever.........

Realistically, probably a platinum album, but not much more.
They won't get any kind of push from any of the media establishments, which is required for you to break the 10 million mark anymore. Even aging rockers like the Who, Stones and Zeppelin, if reunited (and all the members were still alive) would sell in excess of about 5 million copies.
I'd say lowball estimates of about 800k-1m range. Highball would be in the 1.8-2m range.Comment

well in reality ..... sadly i agree the van halens have screwed up so much over the last twenty years that the name Van Halen is a joke...........but in my head
double diamond dave triple platinum gold edged wrapped in the finest silk hand crafted by the aliens in area fifty one sealed with air breathed by god himself........

I'd say about 2 million copies. The media and the world still want a Diamond Dave/VH reunion. It would be BIG news.Roth Army Militia

Could see it moving a million units/going platinum without difficulty. Could even see it doing 2 or 3 million if some of the tracks found some heavy rotation on rock radio.
But I don't see it going Diamond. 10 million CDs is a shitload, and let's not forget it took Van Halen's debut album and 1984 quite a bit of time after the initial release dates to reach that status.
Hate to say it, but am sure there are more than a few who bought CVH records back in the day who don't even listen to that stuff anymore, or have no interest in what CVH would be currently doing.
Plus, all the bullshit put out post-1984 under the name 'Van Halen' helped whittle away some more of the classic fanbase. Would be pretty much a given that I'd get a copy, but I doubt that everyone who was into the band when they were still classic would feel the same way.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment
