    1 million tops!

The only alums that sold 10 million were 1984 and VH1, which was at the height of their popularity (VH1 even re-entered the charts in '84). There's no way they would equal that 20+ years later.

Radio stations would play it at first, but it's likely to get very little airplay overall.....

File sharing and all that sorta stuff.......

It could suck......you have to realize that possibilty.....there are a lot of old acts that put out shit when they are hovering 50 years old.

If it happens just get ready for one heckava fuckin ride. You think Mount St Helens was big, this reunion would be bigger.

Figs we are not talking about a band that keeps saying "last tour etc etc" we are talking about a band that ruled the airwaves and arenas from 78' to 84. We are talking about a leadsinger that owned the stage and airwaves and medias attention. About a guitarist that shook the world from the minute he recorded VH1 right up to until the final chord on 1984. This band has made a massive impact on the music world that has not been forgotten. This reunion, if it were to happen, would be huge, period.
        Cheers

That is why Dave is such a major player in this. Look at all the attention he's been getting lately. Dave is not stupid. This is being done for a reason. Remember that today everywhere you look the media is around. you can't take a fucking shit w/o someone knowing about it 2 sec later. Dave is gonna use this medium to the fullest and rest assured that everyone is gonna know that CVH is back in business, even if it is for one album and tour, the world will know. How do you start to re-build something that was destroyed, from the bottom up. Dave is laying the foundation first...............just wait and see(we all hope)

              BAM

Yeah.......seem to recall last year the Best Of Both Worlds was released, featuring 3 new Van Hagar songs.

Last 'Van Halen' release before that was in 1998. 6 years between releases, 10 years between the last release of Van Hagar material and the 2004 droppings, and the craving for new Sam Halen stuff was so great that none of the tracks got any substantial airplay, with the collection still struggling to go gold (paragon of lameness being that because it was a 2-disc set, Van Hagar fans were claiming that once 250,000 of the BOBW sets were sold it actually sold 500,000 copies).

New CVH record would have a more than reasonable chance to go multi-platinum. With last years litmus test, probable verdict can be concluded on what a new, full-length Van Hagar effort would sell; about the same as Van Halen 3, probably a little less.

but, seriously, (that means Thorman need not post),
The big money gang would want to see contracts written in blood before they backed something from the 'Quake' Bros., even if Dave agreed. They just procrastinated too many times and really shit on too many people.

bang on the nose there american gypsy..... no one either in the INDUSTRY or the fans can take the Van Halen bro's seriously now.... there a musical hot potatoe.... sad but true... some serious contracts would need written....

but lets be honest not a one of us could care about numbers... we would be happy if they toured small clubs and released an album out of the back of there car... actually that may be the wya to go back to the garage route and plaese the fans for once

I think it will be so fucking awesome if they really decide to do this. I really do wonder...

Just imagine the ticket prices, they're so going to be outta this world!

"So there, I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopkeeper and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...Nasty business, really, but sure enough I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show..."
