Well you know, there IS a logical explanation for this, which is very true and very funny.

You see, just because there were 11 Van Hagar songs in the top 25, doesn't mean they had NEARLY as much votes as Panama. As was stated, RWTD, Jump, HFT, and Panama were the top 4.

The explanation is like this. Let's say 2 Million people voted.

The numbers would have probably come out like this, since each person gets to vote for 3 different songs.

Panama - 1.5million votes
HFT- 1.4 million votes
Jump- 1 Million Votes
RWTD- 1 Million Votes

You see, my guess is that like 95% of the people voted for Panama and HFT, since they are good songs, and MTV used to run those videos quite frequently. They were divided mainly between HFT and RWTD for the last 2 votes.

The rest of the votes, can be divided into these 2 categories.

The Roth fans who voted for different songs, since i'm sure some voted for I'm the One. (But that song isn't as well known as Panama) or Jamies Crying and the like.

Then come the Van Fagar fans. They probably had the Panama and HFT effect themselves, only it was with Van Hagar songs. So they were able to get some Van Hagar songs into 5th place and such, since everyone used up their vote on Panama.

Not to mention, I'm sure some of those Van Hagar fans, being the fags they are, tried to get Sammy more votes by voting multiple times.
