    I just noticed

I was watching Back to the Future and I dunno if this has been asked before or not but I noticed in some scenes Michael J Fox has a walkman and it has some EVH guitar work on it.

It wasn't anything I recognized so I just wondered was it made specifically for the movie or what?

From my understanding, it was. EVH did indeed perform the brief clip you hear when Michael J. Fox is dressed in the nuke suit, claiming to be "Darth Vader" from "Planet Vulcan".....threatening to melt George McFly's brain.

Despite being a really "80's" movie, I still think that shit is funny. Although the Huey Lewis and the News soundtrack, which sucked initially, REALLY REALLY sucks when it ages 20 years....

Haven't seen that movie in years, but Huey and the news are cool, IMO. I have their Best Of and really like it. Huey played harmonica on a song on Thin Lizzy's Live and Dangerous; he was their opening act. That's pretty cool. I dig the guy.

Anyway, check out Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure for another '80s movie with lots of VH. He's wearing a 5150 T-shirt, yeah, but you can see CVH posters in their houses, garage, etc. And "Lieutenant Van Halen" is a pretty funny line.
      Waylon Jennings: 1937-2002. RIP, Hoss!

Have read that the music coming out of the Walkman McFly put on George's ears while he was sleeping was, in fact, EVH and AVH. Something along the lines of the director asking Ed for a brief rock sample for the scene, and Ed gave him what ended up in the film free of charge.

          From imdb.com

When Marty pretends to be Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan, he plays a tape labeled "Van Halen" to scare George out of his sleep. It is an untitled Edward Van Halen original written for a movie called The Wild Life (1984).

Another 80's movie that featured Dave Roth is "Weird Science"..the two boys scan a picture of Roth into their computer and then Dave comes on with the famous "Dave T.V." video...now that's cool!

I'm begining to wonder if Ed has ever done anything smart in his life.

Back To The Future was on the other night, and I noticed that the label on the cassette read "Edward" in little letters, and "Van Halen" in big letters...
Maybe this is what a heroine addict feels like after getting a long awaited fix, shooting up in the corner of some abandoned building and just not giving a fuck about what the rest of the world thinks...TATTOO"
