Just got done listening to this at work - I thought it was a compelling interview.

It's funny how he comes out now and says he wasn't happy with some of the 3 new songs (NEWSFLASH ED: THEY ALL SUCKED). Then basically slams Sam and Mike for not wanting to do a whole album. Ed, I don't recall your first singer having problems with that - WHY DON'T YOU GIVE HIM A RING? It was obviously a cash-in. Like we've been saying since DAY 1. Even Ed all but admitted it.

Eddie's problem is that he likes to play the role of the victim at every chance possible. He sounded so whiny about putting out new tunes ("We just finished the tour in November"? - Dude, if I sat on my ass for 6 months - I wouldn't have a gig). "I can't do it all myself" - Um, maybe not - BUT YOU'RE ED VAN FUCKING HALEN - I'm sure there are people who would line up to help you put out new music - so that's a lame fucking excuse.

The bottom line is Ed's too drunk and lazy and rich to give a shit about putting out music that 's interesting to anybody other than himself. He sounds like he's in a constant state of denial about the legacy of his once great band. Have another $8 bottle of Smoking Loon Ed.



But it was funny when he talked about getting blowjobs during Sammy's solo. I'm not so sure Roth couldn't work with the newly single Ed again. Especially if he's taking healthy doses of Vitamin E.

Eddie seems like an impossible person to work with..It's that attitude that drove Dave away in the first place...the guy points the finger at everyone else....Dave needs a guitarist with a strong work ethic, killer ideas, and a straight head on his shoulders...he had that in spades with vai and I wish that chemistry could be reistablished...EVH sounded pathetic in that interview....kind of sad really...

Theres a guitarist named Blues Saraceno that many of you probobly know...that guy would be the perfect fit for DLR.
