I don't wanna hear and solo songs myself, there are enough CVH tunes to fill a entire set. -

I just thought if it was a full blown reunion of CVH then we shouldn't have and solo songs.
If Dave played his solo songs then Ed, Alex and Mike may want to play some Hagar era songs ( which would suck) .
I just know though that the CVH catalog has well over enough songs to accomidate a set that would last well over 2 and half hours.Comment

There's so many CVH tunes I'd want to hear from a reunited classic lineup....I mean, these guys would probably do a setlist roughly 20 songs long, and I can think of twice as many tunes I'd like to hear off the top of my head excluding Roth-solo material.....so, pretty much nay to the DLR solo-tunes on a hypothetical reunited CVH tour.
There is a whole lotta Roth-solo stuff that's been neglected live as of late. My guess is Dave has made his setlists over the last half decade so CVH heavy because he figures that's what a lot of people want to hear, because he may think that many see him as the former lead singer of Van Halen more than anything else. Fair enough, it's been great to hear that stuff live again. Wouldn't be too terrible for Dave on his current solo outings to split the setlist more 50-50 between CVH and Roth solo, though.
Don't think Dave would even be saying "Hey, I want to do some solo stuff" to Ed anyway. Think they'd have enough trouble deciding what CVH tunes to leave off the setlist, never mind which tunes to bounce so CVH could play Yankee Rose.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment

if sammy had the right to further ruin VH with his "classic" songs, then roth has 10 times that right! maybe just a couple barnburners!Comment

its still Roth so it would be cool, but not at a CVH reunion,it should be pure CVHI really love you baby, I love what you've got

If Roth had to do Hagar era songs then I can see myself wanting to hear some Roth solo.......but then that would make the set even longer to accomidate the CVH songs.
We're looking at a 3+ hour s et at that point.......and I just don't think any of them cept Dave of course could pull that off.Comment

If Dave isn't playing much of his solo stuff now, why would he do so with Van HALEN?
Hell, the 6 Van HALEN albums are among the best in the history of recorded music, and Dave has every right to sing those songs on stage. But he's done some other great stuff since then as well. I'd like to hear him mix the set list up a little more. Most of the DLR Band CD has never been played live at all, and that's a fucking tragedy.
But not in a Van HALEN reunion. Eddie's ego would never allow it. And as others have already mentioned, it's the only way you can guarantee no fucking Van Hagar crap.
Hell, I wouldn't miss Jump all that much, to be honest. If this tour ever does happen, Eddie can leave the goddamn synthesizer at home.Eat Us And Smile
