I think Dave should have been doing this long ago.
Even the biggest names in music go through hard times... but when they keep going, they position themselves to sieze the golden opportuntities when they arise. Look at Kiss, Aerosmith, U2, Motley Poop. Dave should have kept up with DLR Band. I wish he had.
I know with Brian Young & the ultra telented lineup he's been with, he could tear it up again in ways Van Hagar never could. It amazes me that Dave doesn't pursue that opportunity. Fuck VH, They're over. Forget the reunion, and move on to better things!Comment

Am starting to wonder why Dave should even bother putting out any new material if he ain't gonna play it live.
Seriously, did Dave even do anything live off of Diamond Dave other than Thug Pop? Far as I know, he didn't perform anything off of the great DLR-band album other than Slam Dunk!
Think Dave might believe that a lot of people who go to see him now are going just to hear him do the classic Van Halen tunes. Maybe that's true...I mean, I don't walk around at a Roth show polling everyone as to why they're there. Kinda made sense for him to have a heavy CVH setlist when he was doing his gigs with Hagar in 2002, since part of the premise behind them touring together was that both of them were in Van Halen. Problem is, Dave had been taking that approach ever since he resumed up steady touring in 1999.
Dave can keep putting out music, absolutely. Am always gonna give his stuff a listen; don't care if he's only moving 50,000 copies or so (DLR Band) vs when he was moving millions (Eat 'Em and Smile, Skyscraper). Roth has always delivered (wasn't too thrilled with Diamond Dave, but whatever), so in my book he's earned my support far as buying his records goes. If the dude is gonna keep hitting the road following his new releases, wanna see some more DLR-solo stuff, though.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment

They said they have TONS of material written for Dave, and that new material would be coming soon...I know that's nothing new, but...Comment

when i saw him last year he did oom bop, sorry i mean shu bop and the rest was just old vh tunes. I think he did yankee rose and that was it for his own stuff.
i think he needs a new direction the diamond dave album was ok, but the dlr band album was excellent he should go for that kinda album againComment
