I've been reading the threads at this site for a long time -yet to post because I've had nothing valuable to add.
Bottom line is A tour with Dave in Van Halen would be great, but its a couple summers late. If someone is a fan of Van Halen& Van Hagar, then they've seen it already. If just Sammy he's always out playing, and we know what Dave is doing. I've seen him three times, first way back on the Sky Scraper tour - surf board, boxing ring and all, then with sammy, and then on the current tour.
The real value of a reunion would be to have new Van Halen material with Dave, the crazy relationship these guys have is the reason their music is what it is. I hope AZ is right, not for the tour, but for the musicComment

I don't believe a word he's saying.
It also seems obvious the only way VH is gonna fill a stadium this time around is with a 20 year anticipated reunion.
People love seeing their childhood relived. I think EVH knows it. He's not a multi-millionaire by being stupid. He has the best advice money can buy. Also, regardless of what he says, Ed's in it for the $. Just listen to his recent albums to figure that out.
I can't even see Warner Bothers signing them otherwise. Van Hagar has been on a downward slope since they started.
I hope azcrdnal is right, but I don't see how this guy, in alabama, knows something we don't.
I have a friend who is a sound engineer, and in late 1999 he said VH/Coverdale were recording though. This guy had no internet. He's a drug addict. Hell of a sound guy though.
I hope you're right, azcrdnal, for once.Last edited by pete; 03-22-2004, 10:17 PM.Comment
