If you want to maintain the feel of the original album, you can always eject the CD before the bonus tracks begin.
As for all the extra stuff being compiled onto a newly released CD, sometimes - either because of performance or sound quality - the material doesn't warrant seperate release. It works better to as an incentive for long-time fans to make the purchase of material they already otherwise own. And besides, have the powers that be given us that newly released CD in the past 20 years???
