Didn't those lyrics belong to a song that is consider a rock and roll anthem? Sammy writes not only one anthem, but he has writted two songs of them that are anthems. They are, "I Can't Drive 55" and "One Way To Rock." The Army always said that they always play CVH on the radio. Van Halen never would have made it. The combination of a flamboyant, hyperactive frontman and a young guitar wizard that introduced the world to a new style of playing is what set Van Halen apart from other hard rock acts of that time period. And lets not forget the back ground vocal harmonies that other hard rock bands didn't possess. Anyway this culmination of talent put VanHalen on the map. Hagar was and is a 2nd tier frontman. He never would have pushed Edward, like Dave did. Van Halen would have been another ham and egger soft rock act. And sure enough that's what they became anyway.Comment
