So, give the tickets to someone who can go.

    thanks
    Ahhhhh, Shit!

Yeah Carmine...I was ready to delete all the other fuckers just so he could get it...

I don't know how much tickets cost from where he's coming...but I'd be willing to bet we could get enough donations to get that fucker here...

but I don't know that we could do it by Thursday...

        I would love the tickets

I would like to win the tickets because I have worked so hard to bring my GPA back up from the dead. I was on probation at Hunter twice with a GPA that becan with a ZERO! and now I'm almost up to 2.8. If I can pass algebra with an A this summer I know I will bring it up to a 3.0. School is very wonderful and also extremely stressful. Walking to school listening to old DLR tunes pumps me up and makes me feel ready. I think it would be great to go to the show and dance and have a great time, school shmool! if only for a night anyways!

                  Kahunaville tickets

Alright, I'm gonna hit you with a bit of a sob story here, so get the kleenex out and in the ready position. I've been a DLR fan for most of my 26 years, beginnging at a very early age. Skyscraper was the very first tape I was allowed to buy when I was in second grade, and I played the shit out of it in my fischer/price boombox until the tape phsically broke, and it was the absolute shit to my 6 year old ears. I didn't really grasp the entirety of what was going on, in the album or with Dave in general, but I saw mountain climbing, hot girls in bikinis, flashy white suits, and a whole hell of a lot of kick ass rock, and I knew at that young age that it was everything I wanted and loved. Diamond Dave introduced me to what it means to truly fucking rock out with your cock out, and I don't think I can ever do anything that will repay him for that. Now I drifted away from Dave for a few years, a youthful indiscretion that I'm not particularly proud of, listened to a lot of heavy death metal and that kind of thing, a lot of pot smoking and Pink Floyd, typical teenage stuff, but I would soon return to the comforting arms of DLR in a big way. A few years ago, a friend of mine told me he was going to see Diamond Dave, and asked if I wanted to go. Sadly, I said no, partly because I had very little money, and partly because it was a bit of a distance to the show, and I had still not listened to much Dave for a few years, so I wasn't all about it. So he goes to the show, and a few weeks pass by, then we meet up again. The first thing he does is, he grabs me by the shirt with both fists, shakes me violently, and says "You stupid, stupid bastard!!". Now I'm used to getting that kind of thing from time to time, but I was still a bit confused so I asked what he was talking about, to which he replied "DAVID....LEE...ROTH!", and proceeded to explain to me the absolute awesomeness that I had missed out on by not going to the show. Now my friend is a big fan of over the top campy kind of stuff, so he had gone to the show expecting it to be unintentionally hilarious, but what he got was a whole other thing altogether, an awesome, kick-ass show that totally blew him away. That is the point at which my love of DLR returned in a big way, and I've spent the last couple years getting well re-acquainted with Mr. Roth's music and enjoying the hell out of it. So that's the background, now here's the present reason that I should get the tickets. I have never seen DLR in person, and when I saw that he was coming to kahunaville for an outdoor summertime show, I jumped up and down like a little girl in anticipation of this awesome show. So I tell my girlfriend and she's kind of indifferent about it, which, once the outrage passed, inspired me to make it my personal mission to make her love Diamond Dave as much as I do. I give her the full treatment, the music, the videos, the Roth-isms, the whole deal, and, of course, she totally goes for it, loves it all, and is pumped as shit for the show, especially since it's at Kahunaville, which is a bad ass place for any summer show, let alone DLR. So we're all up each other's asses about how great the show will be, all excited and whatnot, and then she loses her job for this really bullshit reason that I won't get into, save to say that it was absolute bullshit and no fault of her own. Neither one of us make a lot of money to begin with, I'm a full time college student just working jack off jobs until I finish, and so this is like a major blow, and she's really upset in the way that only women can be really upset, if you know what I mean. With rent, car payments, insurance, credit cards, cell phones, and all this shit to pay for, sad to say that DLR tickets are not in the budget, and so we had to abandon our plans for the show, which, again, really upset her. Since then, she's had nothing but really shitty luck, scraping for money, having some of her good friends turning into drug addicts, getting constantly turned down for all the jobs she applies for even though she is totally qualified, and other things that I don't want to get into. It's just been a real shitty time in general for her for the last few months. I would love to surprise her with tickets to the DLR show, but neither of us can afford it, and so that's why I'm putting in my bid for the tickets. It would make her so happy to be able to just go and have a good time at the show, and forget about everything for at least a night, especially after my stupid ass got her all excited for it and then we couldn't go. I can only imagine what a great time his shows are, and I know that going to this show, especially in the present situation, would make her a hardcore DLR fan for life. I won't pretend that I'm doing this purely for her sake, I want to go to the show too, I mean, I've been a fan of the guy for like 20 years now and still haven't seen him live, but it's mostly for her, because she's really going through it now, and it would just mean so much to be able to sit back, sip a margarita, and forget about her problems to the sweet sound of Diamond Dave for a night. If someone has a horrible cancer story or a sick child or something really serious like that, then please give the tickets to them, we're not that bad off, but I cannot tell you how much both of us would appreciate those tickets. Thanks for the consideration.

Ok...Mark? Roth fan of 26 years, and you just now stumble upon the Roth Army?

Twofools had a great story, and if he could go, I would gracefully withdraw...but your story seems a little...I don't know...not as compelling.

Basically because nobody knows you. Pay your dues, pal.

So if I win, I plan on documenting the entire trip on video, set to a Classic Van Halen soundtrack...

It will be a "Child of the 80's Odyssey"...

assuming that I can video part or all of the Roth set, I would definately stream that here...

And I have a feeling that some of the participants might have some leverage with the boys in the band, so that means backstage footage...

And my wife said I could go...
