Come on guys. The Darkness are BIG CVH fans who have no time for Van Hagar. Sounds good to me. They're just paying tribute to their influences and considering how much time Eddie and Alex have spent destroying CVH's legacy in recent years, I think it's a good thing that band's like The Darkness are helping to keep the legacy alive. No rip-off here just a bunch of DLR/CVH fans.

I really like The Darkness. Fun band, showing their love of classic bands, I love the AC/DC-like riffs.

The catsuit thing probably seemed like a good idea at the time, but when you do that, people think you are a joke, and I seriously don't think they are a joke. They are just what the music industry needs-a good fun band, who sometimes smile on stage.

I saw them in Manchester. They had explosions, flames, strobes, several costume changes, a ginat white tiger that Justin played a solo on whilst it flew around the arena, the only thing they didn't have was lasers.

I love their album, its an entertaining listen, and, contray to common beliefs, INTENTIONALLY CHEESEY, in the same way that the videos for 'California Girls' or 'Just A Gigolo' were.

Lets put it this way, they were played over the PA at Queen + Paul Rodgers, Judas Priest and Yngwie Malmsteen this year. If those 3 like them, they can't be that bad.

I admire what the Darkness do because they are poking fun at the current state of rock, while catering to the real rock crowd.

Think of being able to recognize that pose as their way of seeing who knows where that came from, and who doesn't.

People are saying that they wont last long, and they're probably right, but, I would have said the same thing about Kiss or Slade or Status Quo or Motorhead or even Queen and Dave(I'll get shot dead for saying that), despite the fact that the latter two are two of my favourite bands/artists of all time ever, and their songs are still getting played quite often, and their back catalouge still sells a lot.

Don't put anyone down, they could still shock you.

a real band with real musician with any sense of style would never pull a stunt like that...

Their music has much more to do with AC/DC than CVH. Their look is 100% CVH. Justin is a goofier, campier Freddie Mercury.

I like the first album. Is it destined to be a classic? No. But it's fun rock. Not many of those bands make it to their level these days.

Oh, and the thing I admire about them is the fact that they're going against the current trend of making music intentionally shitty to be cool, and instead going all out.

they're not the new VH, or trying to be...they're paying tribute to all what is good in rock n' roll, hard rock, doing it in a fun way, and there CAN NEVER BE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

Especially with all these coldplays, nu-metal shites, pop poops...at least someone remembers what is classic rock.
