    DLR in AC

    Saw DLR at the Borgata (sp?) in Atlantic City NJ this past friday. Kicked ass as always. Voice sounded pretty good and he was still pretty fit (not as much so as the Sam and Dave tour though).

    Highlight of the show for me was him busting out Cradle Will Rock. I was a little disapointed that he didn't play any EEAS material.

    Daves got the Vegas haircut and I gotta say he looks like a dick with ears. I am guessing he had to get the cropped, my three sons, hair cut for his military EMS training but nevertheless he looks like a dildo. The short hair like he had for last years Boston Pops appearance was cool and it suited him well but this... not good.

    I did have a blast though and everything else was right on.

    I don't think that chinaman he has playing rythm speaks a lick of english. Freakin' guy mouthed the wrong words all night long.

    ...yes I was THAT close. Against the barrier. Dave called my girl hot-stuff, which, of course , I will never live down. Story of my life...

    I'd give you a setlist but I was pretty smashed and wasn't about to take notes while being directly in front of the stage.

    This is what I remember him playing in random order

    I think that was about it. I coulda forgotten something but whadayagonna do. He is still doing the Jack Daniels ejaculation thing which I feel has about run it's course.......

    It was a great show and a great time. What else can you ask for?

      Sorry guys. Not that anyone gives a fuck about my review anyway LOL but I must have been more fucked up than I thought. He DID play Yankee Rose from EEAS. After talking to my girl she reminded me and I also saw it on the DLR Band setlist on the new official Roth site. So I guess my fucking whining was uncalled for. On the other hand I still think the hair cut has got to go. Peace

              The "chinaman," that's too fucking funny.

              I agree with you, I don't think that dude really serves a purpose in Dave's band....whatever though, it's Dave's band not mine.

                      Good, honest review there colf. I saw some of the vids from that concert and I think Dave's voice is up to par for a tour with VH, if they would get their shit together.

                      I will address the 'dick with ears' comment though... I think Dave doesn't have to many options with the hair these days, so he is doing the best he can. If he grows it longer, it highlights his receding hairline and then people start making comments about how he should cut it short. He can't win against male pattern baldness (and I should know!)

                      There are good options for transplants these days, where they take the smallest units/grafts possible one at a time from the back and sides of the head and put those up front. No strip cut from the back of the head and (with a good doc) looks natural. This costs major $$$, which shouldn't be a problem for Dave and he could be back to his pre-1985 hairline.
