Ed can sit around in his studio and create all the music he wants. Bottom line is the band 'Van Halen' is all done. Not a fan of theirs post-1985, but at least with Hagar from 1985 to 1994 Van Hagar had a degree of commercial success.

Ed and Al publicly pissed on on a lot of people who were looking forward to seeing CVH reunite in 1996. They decided to get who they wanted, then told us if we didn't like it, tough. Opted to go with Cherone, rather than turn into a 'nostalgia act'. Then they hit the road and start playing more CVH with Cherone than they ever did with ol' Red Tubs.

Then, the dumb fuckers FINALLY decide to give in and do a Van Halen reunion/cash in on the nostalgia (despite Ed giving interviews saying he's into 'moving forward' musically)............but they decide to cash in on an era of Van Halen that nobody but a buncha power-ballad lovin' dipshits would be pining to see re-created! Regardless of what Van Hagar 2004 made money-wise, it was a bad move. Shit, even Sam and Mike don't have much of anything good to say about it!

Think Ed and Al damn well know what people want out of Van Halen at this point. Getting Roth back in the band is the only move of interest they have left to make. That it won't happen really comes down to the fact that Ed and Al are a couple of dickheads.

Better question is: Without Dave, who gives a shit what Van Halen is doing now?
