It was all about knocking off VH, they were the greatest, and no band has managed to come close. You can just hear the Lep boys talking amongst themselves. Far as Lep bustin on Dave nowadays, well, they're not really in any position to say anything about him. Definitely agreed that Leppard totally wasted an opportunity when Viv got into the band, but Campbell must be content, because he stayed in the band. But by the time Campbell got into the band, Lep was already all done anyway. Without Steve Clark wailin' and Mutt Lange producing and helping with the songwriting, the Leps have proven they're not anything special.

Here's a fact...Def Leppard cannot write a song without the help of Mutt Lange. Think about it...a lot of their early stuff sounds a bit like AC/DC, and most of their later stuff sounds like Shania Twain.
Perhaps Rick Allen would have done well to have had Dave as his EMT....he might not be playing the fuckin' snare drum with his FOOT.Comment
