I agree Ed is still a dick.

However, he also hates Sammy's guts and the way he writes lyrics and so on.

It took three albums for Ed to realize this (Balance being the fourth -- when the problems surfaced).

And the three songs last year were no exception -- complete crap.

The goal was to always have a CVH Reunion one way or another since Gary was canned in late '99.

For whatever reason it didn't happen, Al and Ed needed the dough so they reluctantly decided to got out with Sam last year, no doubt due also to Mike's new found love for the fat fucker.

Al was more accepting of Sam coming back than Ed, I think.

Remember the stories of Ed purposely playing CVH tunes at soundcheck just to piss Sambo off? It seemed to work.

      Right on!

Remember, the fat fucker called Al NOT Ed. All this talk about Ed and Sam Mule's friendship and the Round Rocker called Al.

      Ed prefers Dave!

Dave will be back in VH very soon!!!!

Not quite sure I understand Sam's logic. Van Hagar 2004 was contracted for 80 shows, but "if it hadn't been for the business of it", Hagar would have stopped at 40 shows? So, I guess his attitude was pretty much things weren't working out, but he decided to do the latter half of the tour for the money.

Nice for him to comment on the high ticket prices, AFTER THE TOUR WAS OVER, rather than before the tour started, when prices could have been dropped and have saved 'the fans' a few bucks.

Sounds like a bunch of lame excuses.

Good points, Terry. Sammy always drones on and on about how he "cares" about his fans, yet it was okay to screw them over on the tour?! Now he feel's guilty all of a sudden, now that his wallet's fat again(along with his body)?! Sorry Spam, like your album's, I'm just not buying it!

Actually I heard that Sammy is going to leave the music industry so he can actually get recognized for his true passion. Eating.

He is gearing up to take down Kobayashi next year in the hot dog competition.

What Van Hagar did in 2004 spoke for itself. Just plain stunk. Was pretty disheartening to listen to those three new tunes, along with the live soundfiles, and hear how far EVH had fallen. In all seriousness, what Van Halen 3 did in 1998 on that MTV Live From The Ten Spot sounded great compared to what Ed and Co. did last year. There really was no joy for me in watching that debacle, and any hopes I had of Ed pulling his head out of his ass and making an effort to end his career on a positive note with a CVH reunion are no longer there. What happened with Gary Cherone at the helm was pathetic. What happened with Sam last year was just sad. Seriously. Can't say that if Dave and Ed held a press conference tomorrow and said they were gonna put CVH back together that I'd be thrilled with the prospect. Ed's just not up to it.

And I have no doubt Sam will go out on tour with Van Halen again if asked. Same with Mike Anthony. All of which makes both of their post-tour comments meaningless. Shit, even Sam himself said that he wasn't closing the door to another Van Hagar reunion, which is strange considering that the rest of his comments indicated that 2004 sucked.

None of us needed Sam and Mike to tell us that 2004 blew as far as Van Halen was concerned. That was readily apparent.

I agree with you Terry on your points in regards to Ed from last year's Sham tour.

But isn't it possible that Ed never really wanted to tour with Sam in the first place and didn't even want to play a majority of Van Hagar songs??

That the fact that Al presuaded Ed to bring Sam back in the fold??

I think in part it may explain Ed's behaviour during the tour.

Seems like Ed wanted to play 'Hot For teacher' moreso than 'Seventh Seal'.

Well, I suppose anything is possible, in terms of how Eddie felt about touring with Hagar last year. I mean, I don't know EVH. From what he had to say in his Guitar World interview of last year, he had no more use for Roth and wasn't entertaining hitting the road with CVH. Does Ed really feel that way about it? Dunno. Maybe once the tour started, Ed began to have misgivings about not reuniting with Roth.

Suppose Ed really DID want to tour with Dave and ended up hitting the road with Sam anyway because Al talked him into it, as opposed to Ed touring with Sam because he actually wanted to. Same result in the end, so fuck Ed in either case.

Van Halen is over? Nah, don't forget that Eddie thinks that until him and his sister Al are alive there'll always be Van Halen.

I am sure next year they will resort to some other fucking fatass to grab another buck or two, ripping off fans. Maybe this guy'd be a good Sammy substitute:

Mr T sez: "I pity the fools who'll attend those rip-off shows with no Dave" ...

                          You've been warned.

Sam was trying to articulate that it would've been better for band relations to do a short, concise tour. However, the cost of mounting the tour, paying the crew and whatnot (and make it worth ed's while to get out of bed) required more shows to generate more revenue. Even a Rolling Stones world tour take 2/3s of the tour to break even on expenses. (and that's if it's a successful). Plus, hey, if people are offerring it, would you walk away form a guarantee of three quarters of a million dollars?

As for ticket prices, sam was only a hired, salaried hand this time aorund: an employee. He had no say in anything like the price of tix.

                              So who's to blame then?

Who else? The brothers and their management.
