Daves voice vs Sammy and age

I've always hated his voice.

I can't put my finger on why but even when 5150 came out, even ignoring the move towards cheesiness I just hated it.

It seems to hit a point in my subconcious like a baby crying.

Maybe it's the aliens fault, who knows the damage they did to him on that mothership.

Dave is a physical animal and well conditioned. Is it his lifestyle? Booze? Why is his voice which doesnt rely on hittting high notes, shot?

I reckon his voice is a cross beteen someone running their nails down a blackboard and two cats fighting in the middle of the night. But a baby crying is another accurate description. Fuck that dudes voice is annoying.

sammy simply cannot sing..... when i firsst listend to 5150 i didnt know it was sammy (duh) but on the first listen i thought 'ugh' roth aint singin well here.... it was ok but it wernt great.... and now?.... maybe 2000/2001 he lost it a bit but his voice is superb..... especially live

He sounds the same on every song - it's so fake. He could sing Happy Birthday, or Yesterday, or Desparado, or Three Lock Box and it all would sound exactly the same - that same fake scream. Boooring!

Dave's uses his voice like Ed uses his guitar. He wants to get every possible sound out he can to communicate something, to express something. That's why the go so good together.

When Dave came out I thought finally someone in rock who sounds like a man, instead of screeching like a girl.

Im positive that it was Sam that pulled out of the double bill tour with Roth, because it was his voice that was shot and pissed on. Roth kept touring. Not too mention, that Roth got louder receptions at most cities. That had to hurt Sam little girly feelings.
