its is a rumor, but stern pretty much got confirmation on it by the end of the show. DLR on the east coast, and Adam Corola on the west.

I still have faith gang. There is always a possibility of the Mighty CVH
      reuniting.
      Think positive.

I just heard roth live in reunion arena. 1999. He couldn't hit a single high note. what a joke all you roth freaks are dogging eddie asif the future of vh needs roth. edgar allen poe was a drunk too. who is the real artist in all this. the most beautiful thing that could happen after all this would be evh making a solo release. hagar and roth can both go pound sand.

It wasn't just the music, sand pounder. It's the showmanship you can't find anymore. I think Eddie was a slightly over-rated guitarist back in the day. There've been many faster fingers & fancy fret work before & since. Roth was the secret ingredient.

That said....I bet you guys get sick of Roth on the radio before it's over. If you think Howard can get on your nerves, imagine the verbal diarhea that will unceasingly spill forth from the mind of our maniac. I like a good drunken stupor occassionaly & even the hang-over the morning after is exquisite misery. But I couldn't stand to do it every day though. Roth on the radio is gonna "rawk" for a limited time only. At some point thereafter, anyone forced to listen will be in the bathroom with a barrel between the teeth & a finger on the trigger.

I'll take him on a trial basis but I'm sure a couple of months later I'd rather hear Ragu on the radio.

Dave's got a lot more to say than you think. When he was in Boston, I was impressed by the variety of topics he covered.

Drunk or hung-over??? WTF are you talking about?

For obvious reasons, there is no way we will ever see the ORIGINAL Queen play again, or the Beatles, or Led Zeppelin, or the original Who, and so on.

With that said, the people who made CVH happen (the band) are still alive.

Maybe not all are functioning well (*cough* Eddie *cough*), but they are still here.

That's reason enough for some amount of optimism.

I've heard some boots of DAVE where his has both good shows and some not-so-good shows. In fact he probably sings better than he did in 99' in 05', I'm assuming he takes better care of himself. Yes, sometimes he's a bit sloppy and a bit drunk maybe, and DAVE just mails it in, and sometimes his nails it vocally almost as well as he ever has. But you really think EDWARD should make a solo album at this point? Why? He'd just embarrass himself with the typical sloppy playing that would fester like shit when compared to the current musings of STEVE VAI and SATRIANI, and nobody outside a diehard circle of fans cares about those two anymore. And I really believe EDDIE was a better guitarist than either of them in his prime!

EDDIE make a solo release? Dude, have you heard mush of his notably sloppy 2004 playing, he's also a shell of the guitarist he once was even just ten years ago. And he already did a virtual solo album as from what I understand, "VAN HALEN III" was pretty much as close to a solo effort ED could have made without just playing instrumentals. Why bother? It's Classic VAN HALEN or nothing at this point, and that's after significant psychological retooling of its guitar player.

And MICK JAGGER can no longer hit all of the high notes he did in 1982, so KEITH RICHARDS just put out a solo release? Would anybody care? I doubt it. They only want to hear the STONES with all their flaws of age, warts and all. ANd in a sense, people want to hear how good these aging bands sound despite their advanced age.

Wouldn't say CVH getting back together is impossible, but it's not looking too probable at the moment.

Not really sure if I even want to see it anymore. Have a gut feeling that the most it would produce is a one-off tour, with the CVH lineup playing strictly oldies. The performances would be perfunctionary, but nothing astounding, and certainly nothing better than CVH in their heyday. If that's the case, then for me there's no point, although I'm sure there would be plenty who would be happy with just that......an attitude I can understand, if not agree with.

If CVH were able to come up with an albums worth of killer, new material, put in a few months of rehearsal and hit the road, charging reasonable prices...........THAT would be something. But to shell out $100 + to see a reunited CVH going through the motions........fuck that shit.

As usual, you're 100% spot on with your post TERRY. They need new material and careful preperation for a worthwhile reunion. Otherwise, just put out a commercially remastered live anthology-set of the Diamond DAVE years and forget about it!

seems to me Dave is enjoying himself a lot more too

he has a peace about him, its in his eyes, his smile, etc

(sorry for upping the corniness factor here, just calling it like I see it)

You know I've wondered if that's DAVE just letting go of it and not caring about, nor wanting, a reunion anymore. Maybe he is just touring for the fuck of it, because he won't be able to do it five or ten years from now. It certainly isn't a cash grab, he's not selling tee-shirts or live albums at his shows. It seems he's doing as much as a hobby now than anything else.

He probably makes more money collecting interest in a couple of days than he does playing live at summer festivals.

I think the only hope for the 'CVH-reunionists' was that DAVE was maybe keeping tuned up for a big reunion with Van HALEN. I'm not sure that why he's doing it at all anymore. In fact I think part of it is a sorta' fuck you to the sisters. And part of it is nostalgia for him before he retires to his mansion, writing, and the radio.

Who is the real artist in all this.

                              Certainly ain't Eddie.
