Would you want it advertised if you were the lyricist responsible for that trite, clichéd crap?
"What we've been doing, which is great and certainly cost saving, is I train in the sand pit in McDonald's. I do a few laps. I go through the tunnel a few times. The kids don't mind if I smoke. Plus, when I'm done, lunch is right there."- DLR 2003

I thought Eddie had enough new material for ten albums? He's said he's spent the last four years writing material. why are they using material they were going to use with Roth three years ago???

Eddie has a history of this. I think Can't Get This Stuff No More was a Sammy leftover that Roth wrote new lyrics to (which were better than the original lyrics, and I've never seen them).

          Eddie must be tapped out.

But Sammy didn't write lyrics for that band.

He only wrote lyrics - and shitty ones at that - for a cheese ballad top 40 pop band named Van Hagar.

I still say "Can't Get This Stuff No More" is the coolest burn ever put to record. Read the lyrics and think about their situation over the years. Now, I know the story was he wrote it about a jilted lover but I think that is just a story to indirectly admit it was about the reunion with Van Halen. I'm not a lit major but I've always loved his lyrics. They are either in riddles or exactly what he thinks!

Of course, this is just my opinion and no proof of purchase!

I didn't see anything in that article that said Sammy has rewritten/redone/re-recorded DLR's 2000/2001 trax w/VH.

And it's not news, it's a 2001 'Pro-DLR' post, why/how would they say that Sammy's overwritten those trax in 2004???

                  Plz explain

If this post is true I wonder why Dave declined rejoining van halen at the time. I know the post said he had his own band and tour. Would it be contracts interferring and Dave could be sued??

That took a lot of balls for Dave to decline rejoining van halen.

                      Amen, amen.

A classic Halen reunion tour would be great, but touring in support of a full-length album of new material from the classic lineup would be even better.

Would be the icing on the cake for the band: to bring it back to where it all started (and should never have diverted from in the first place), rather than the soap opera it's been for far too fucking long.

No, it's not too much to fucking ask for.

Well I kinda believe that post. It is very detailed. But I may be wrong.
Some people have very good imagination in their writing. Who knows?

They should put both versions on the album and everybody will be like, holy shit Van Halen screwed themselves again. Each day that passes by, i realize more and more that my fav band died a year after i was born. Any new incarnation of an album with someone will be exciting for a bit but i know that i will listen to the album a lot for about a week or two and then go right back to the original shit + Me Wise Magic, Can't Get This Stuff No More, its really too bad. I hope they will release at least one of the 2000 tracks with Dave. I bet u it would blow away anything they did in '96 and with Sammy, and that it would be a bigger single than the Sammy tracks.
When you think of Van Halen you think of David Lee Roth.
