No. As long as EVH and AVH are reasonably coherent, they'll block any and all attempts at 100% disclosure about what really happened.

Second....there's no ending to the story.

I still believe that the final chapter of VH has yet to be written. I may be completely naive to the reality of the situation, but I think there's still more to come.

      sometimes

sometimes these things actually reunite bands, because they talk about good times, as well as bad times. Its like gettin it all out in the open. Plenty of bands have said, "its over" then they did a behind the music, and they were touring soon. It doesn't have to be the final chapter, I just feel it is. But, it doesn't have to be, to have a behind the music

One could only hope that a behind the music will be made. I just think this the brothers have lost all touch with the fucking people that put them on top. US FANS. I thik they could give two fucks about us anymore. The realization that our heros have become dicks sucks.

I think it would be really cool.

They could show Alex in a boxing ring in his backyard, getting in shape to beat up whoever his current wife or girlfriend is.

They could have a 5 minute long segment showing Ed lying in the middle of his driveway in a pool of his own vomit, waking up only long enough to chugs some more Mad Dog 20/20.

They could show the bass player being touched repeatedly by Spambo The Flatulent while in a hot tub full of a vile mixture of hot sauce & tequila.

And then they could cut to Uncle Dave kicking ass and taking names in front of 20,000 people.

Fuck yeah...let's see it all out in the open...

I surely would love to see some video of Valerie Bertinelli giving Uncle Dave a long, slobbery blowjob...

Although I've watched plenty of them, Behind The Music has a cheese factor to it, particularly with the bands/artists that actually approach it as a career move. It's like, great Nikki Sixx/Steven Tyler/Joe Perry/etc., thanks for telling us for the ten millionth time how fucked up you were back in the day............kinda boring. Besides, a BTM isn't gonna be able to tell any of us here anything we don't already know or have suspected, and the notion of Ed, Al or Mike actually telling the truth about, say, the royalty renegotiations or the 1996 debacle is just not realistic.

Outside of the music, the one thing CVH has left going for it/them is that the band name hasn't been dragged through the mud of reality-style or cheesified biography tv. Best to keep what's left of the mystique intact.

Do you think we'd really get at the truth in "Behind the Music?" I think VAN HALEN would make a great documentray-biography. But these guys have had so many problems that they would never agree to authorize a truly unbiased biopic.

I'll admit, I voted YES, 'tell all sides,' but I know that the band's progression to JUMP, DLR leaving VH, the idiocy of trying to get Dave's ass to de-sensitize to fab Ed VH presence, organ playing inserts where Ed had perfectly good single GUITAR parts with leads all nice and ripped right off, and Ed's ridiculously inadequate covers, so that fan intelligence distorts downward (including chicks, which is bad in the long run for Jews like Dave and part Jews like me), will all work against any actual investigative report on how Ed sucks so hard, he can't even get out the wallet and pay a jobber to put up a pint of red, for Ed, inc.

By distortion, I mean all markets and persons are distorted DOWNWARD, by the Ed VH trends and his sickness of enduring, punk, anti-cultural influence, his fraud, his disgusted former associates, the college crowd forced to listen to non-rock, the idiot fans, including the cartoon animal who gave out wit yez threatening writeup at Stern.

I vote maybe...for sorta the same reasons.

It would be a shame for Van Halen to end with no ending. It won't be long before the Dave, Eddie, Alex and Michael to grace the stage one final time. And 1984 was not a good ending. Neither was 1996.

For many people I think the final chapter would be an induction into the R & R Hall of Fame... and I can see where that would be of major importance. However, I also feel that honor is not what it once was. It would be grand to see the Dave (and classic VH) honored in such a manner... but I also feel that it would include Sam and his era.

I feel like there is a behind the scenes story... and that each of the members had reasons for doing things the way they did. I also believe there is much the world will never know regarding these events. And, I guess thats a good thing. Everyone loves a little mystery.

So, I vote maybe. If we could something besides the insults and egos, the name calling and blame game, we have gotten thus far, and if there were some sort of closure that would bring peace to the greatness that was Van Halen...I would love to know as much as they are willing to divulge. Further, it would be awesome to see them go out as friends showing each other the mutual respect they deserve.

And, as a final thought on this matter, I believe that its chances of happening in such a manner are hampered by the input producers would have much the same as a reunion has been hampered by the input of lawyers. If either happens, at this point I will be amazed.

For you, maybe not...but Van Halen lives on in the hearts of many.

VAN HALEN ceased in 1985. Do not be fooled.

There will be no "Behind the Music" until Ed & Alex realize Dave is the/was the major talent in the band. So, don't hold your breath.
