David Lee Roth Tribute Album to be Released Soon

Versailles Records To Issue DAVID LEE ROTH Tribute This Fall [Rock Hard - 05.07.22 21:21:43]

Versailles Records, on the heels of releasing Always: A Millennium Tribute to BON JOVI on July 19th, will hit stores again in the winter of 2005 with Just Like Paradise: A Millennium Tribute to Diamond DAVID LEE ROTH. According to a press release, "the set will feature current/former members of LILLIAN AXE, AEROSMITH, DOKKEN, RIOT, WATCHTOWER, ENUFF Z'NUFF, AMERICAN DOG, DANGEROUS TOYS, LYNCH MOB, TNT and others to follow soon, as well as Richard Kendrick and Corey Craven. This will be the first, only and definitive tribute to hard rock's seminal front man, featuring a mix of the best of Roth's solo work and selections from the 1977-1984 HALEN catalog!"

You ever see someone bang their head on a doorway, and you "feel" the pain yourself?

That's kind of what happened reading your post above, Bob. Poor Bill. Poor, poor Bill.

                    ENUFF Z'NUFF doing Yankee Rose....I can't wait.

Tribute albums usually (damn near always) suck.

If DD only sold 10,000 copies....I wonder who is gonna buy this?

I'll buy it out of curiousity, but I dunno if I'll like it.

                        It sounds...interesting.

I bought a CVH tribute album once and listened to it...once. :D

I was kinda hoping Mayhem or Burzum would make an appearance...maybe Cannibal Corpse and Gororoth, but oh well. In the meantime, I'll listen to it. I prefer it when the songs are changed, there was one CVH tribute called "Everybody Wants Some" and it's probably one of my favorites. I have no interest in hearing a carbon copy remake of a particular song, and this delivered - "Dance the Night Away" was twangy country, "Romeo Delight" was bordering on hardcore, "Everybody Wants Some" was this NYC blues/jazz feel, "Jump" was acoustic guitar unaccompanied, two versions of "Eruption" (one on a church organ and another on a banjo)...that's the kind of shit I like hearing. What I didn't expect.

I don't expect much here for surprises, but we'll see how it sounds, I guess.
