The clubs are bonked by all the VH distortion, where fans left clubs in the 70s, once and for all, to find NOTHING, that Ed is actually an organist, hyped by fan and corporate fool-induction, after he marketed rip-riffs ALL the inc.s used.

This guy I work with happened up on a cuntversation I was having with someone about how grate the Valdosta show was. He lit up, and was like, "David Lee Roth is still performing??.....man, I saw them open for Black Sabbath here a long time ago....they blew Black Sabbath off the stage." Naturally, I asked about his opinions of VH's performance...like, gimme more. He said stuff about Ed just smiling the whole time, and how people were looking at each other flipping the fuck out about his geetar playing....said he was like seventeen or some shit and was probably drunk....wished he could remember more.

This dude isn't into VH or music.....he's entrenched in fishing and mowing his lawn now....not to mention being one hell of a nice guy.

Anyway, he was trying to remember what Dave's cuntribution was and made this flippant remark:

"I really wanted to see Black Sabbath, and we almost got kicked out towards the end of Van Halen because a drunk friend of mine started
bothering this guy with a movie camera on his shoulder....telling him to sit down 'cause he couldn't see."

I was like, "someone had a movie camera??" He goes, "yeah, he was makin' everybody mad." I'm like, "was it the fucking local news or something???..."

I'm sure this was probably mentioned in a previous post, but what pisses me off is they never released anything with Dave, yet they release two live videos with Sam. The first one with only one album's worth of shit-and I do mean shit. Sam is inferior to Dave in every way. VH has proven that they are all about the money and have no loyalty to anyone, so why not release a box set with some complete shows? As for the Oakland vids, they did film on multiple nights, that is evident by the editing of the videos-in Unchained, Ed uses the black and white guitar with the circles and in one shot he has the Frankenstrat. I read an interview with Michael Anhony around 96 saying VH was considering releasing some old stuff, maybe even Oakland. So it does exist. We may never get to see it though.

2.) The "WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST" "WORLD INVASION" Tour 1980....
"A Dutch cinematographer (reportedly named Snade Krellmans) was hired to document the tour on film and the band intended to release a documentary that would rival the WHO's The KIds Are Alright and LED ZEPPELIN's THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME. UNFORTUNATELY, the footage was never released."

3.) 9/19-20/80: Sports Arena, Los Angeles, CA... "At Least One of these L.A. shows was filmed. DAVE even invited the camera crew on stage to film the audience."

4.) 6/11, 12, & 13/81: Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, CA... According to DAVE, ALL THREE OF THESE SHOWS were filmed, but only the third night was a keeper. According to WARNER BROTHERS, special attention was paid to the FIRST show...There remains some confusion about exactly which show was used for the (three) videos."

5.) 7/28/81: Capitol Centre, Largo, MD... WARNER BROTHERS films these shows.

6.) 10/11-12/82: Capitol Centre, Largo, MD...WARNER BROTHERS filmed these shows.

7.) 10/27/82: Montreal Forum, Montreal, QE...Video recordings exist.

8.) 11/13/82: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, NY...Video recordings exist.

9.)1/16/83: Paliebro, Caracas, VENEZUELA....Video recording exist.

10) 1/22/83: Ibirapuera Gymnasium, Sao Paulo, BRAZIL...Video recording exists.

11.) 2/11/83: Auditorio Obras, Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA...Video
recording exist.

12.) 5/29/83:US FESTIVAL Glen Helen Regional Park, San Bernardino, CA...Video exist. "Four of the songs performed were included in a special ShowTime presentation of the three-day event: "Running With the Devil." "(Oh) Pretty Woman," "You Really got ME," " and "Happy Trails". The film was done by Pacific Video and was produced by Robert Lombard and Noel Monk. Donn Landee was in charge of the audio. All four tunes were touched up with numerous overdubs prior to being shown."

13.) 3/26/04: Capitol Centre, Largo, MD...

WARNER BROTHERS films this show.

14.) 4/19/84: Montreal Forum, MOntreal, QE...Video recording exist.

15.) 8/18/84: Donington Park Castle, Donington, Leicestershire, UK...This VAN HALEN show was FILMED and the performance of "Hot For Teacher" was used by European MTV.

They could do like Jimmy Page and PURCHASE any decent video themselves. The 1970 concert that opens the LED ZEPPELIN DVD wasn't owned by the band. Page recently purchased it & had it digitally restored. With the abundance of WARNER BROTHERS film & the outside sources, there would be an EXCELLENT film of CLASSIC VAN HALEN in their PRIME.

I know some of this is common knowledge for the Vet's of the ARMY. Thought I'd share this with those who are interested.

i havent read the entire thread, so my apologies if this has been stated.... but, i do know that van halen shot pretty much every show from the 79- 84. where it is...... i dont know. i have been told that noel monk took it when dave left VH and that the brothers have been fighting ever since to get it back. does noel monk own it legally?? i dont know. if what i have been told is true, then he probably has a stake in it if they are still dicking around with it. but, then i have also heard that it is all in the vaults. i honestly dont know. dont even want to pretend to know. but if i had to choose which source i wanted to believe, id say the latter. makes more sense. especially after this last tour and how it seems everyone was trying to cash in. if they really wanted to cash in, a CVH dvd wouold do the trick. anyway, thats what i know. or what i dont. however you want to take it.

back in 78 or 79, VH played in my neighboring town of Peoria IL. it wasn't at the civic center, but was at a bar called Doc Rock's. as the story goes, someone in my town has an audio tape of that show. they sat up front and recorded the whole thing. when i go on my lunch break, ill head down to my music store and ask the owner more about it. he told me the story a couple of years ago and i remember him saying that he knew who had the tape. that would be sweet if i could get it. it might be wishful thinking, but ill sure try.
