what dave should do is hire a hot shot guitarist and go out on tour playing all vh songs. lets face it, eddie hasn't done anything memorable on guitar since the 1984 cd and there are so many guitarists who have passed the teacher now. roth blew sammy away every night on there tour because all his vh songs rocked and hagar was playing crappy vh ballads and worse, his solo material. roth should go out and play to his hard core fans, namely us. i own all of daves solo cd's and only own the first 6 vh cd's. we are his loyal devotees and we should be rewarded with seeing the greatest frontman in rock n roll history playing the songs we love and a big fuck you to that washed up has been eddie and that insecure jealous asshole alex and that highly overrated and overweight bass player michael anthony. true vh fans know the band was all about dave, not the sidemen that played along side him.

Nah. I dont picture Roth trying to compete head to head like that. Id like to see it. But Id rather wait to enjoy the failure of VH.

Here's a thought. What happens if they figure the band has a few years left, and they decided (or maybe just Ed did) to grab Sammy for this album and this years tour, but then have Dave for next with a final world tour. It would make sense. Sammy bills first. Then make a major announcement for Roth in Jan/05? Saving the best for last? I dunno. It's prob my pot talking...

Ive read that his throat cancer has been cleaned. They got all that was evident anyways. so what do you think of the following year? I dont want everyone reading into this too much, but what if they figure their giving their fans all Sam this year with a best of tour, and next year release the demos and unreleased shit and play a final tour. Like a send off? What got me thinking that, was when they announced they weren't doing any of Dave's material. Maybe theres a reason. Maybe Dave's doing Dave's material with VH next year, without playing any Sam songs. (of course) any thought?

Why doesn't he schedule some tour dates, that he can keep and go out on a kick ass tour?

Dave shouldn't try to compete with the Van Hagar reunion, but just go on tour like he has been playing classic VH with a mix of his solo stuff.

Dave should also get into the studio and record a album with classic VH/EEAS Style of music.

umm, i am a big roth fan but his last tour he did not play all vh material. i was very disappointed with the cd he put out last year with a bunch of crappy cover songs. now on the tour with hagar he did all vh material except for yankee rose but not last tour. i was not sure if the guitarist from the co haeadlining tour was still in the band. basically i want dave doing what he does best, he even coined the phrase "big rock. i am talking hard rockin dave like "yankee rose" "it's showtime" "slam dunk", "bump and grind" "hot dog and a shake" and classic hard rockin roth. the dlr band cd was great and i wish he would follow up that with a proper release. praise david lee roth and is that true that they are not playing any roth era material on this tour. if that is the case they better put that on the tour flyer or there will be a lot of pissed off people. wait, pissed off van halen fans, that will be great.
